Sae Midori
Kabusa
Asatsuya
2 Gyokuro
We are running very low on our sencha

I’m jealous of your order. I have difficulty drinking sencha because I’m overly sensitive to the bitter taste note and it overwhelms the other flavors. I learned about O-Cha from Chip on teachat and they’ve been my favorite source of Karigane and Gyokuro ever since. They’re both less bitter than sencha.

I still have shincha, sencha, hojicha from 2013 and 2016 in the refrigerator, so have a self imposed moratorium on buying any more - except gyokuro

Our tea arrived safe and sound. Update to follow. My sister fell and broke her hip, having surgery now. Tea has to wait.

The Sae Midori and Yutaka Midori are some of my favorites from o-cha! I think the Sae Midori is my most purchased tea ever

Need to reorder ASAP, just opened my last bag of sencha, Sae Midori. All the O-Cha selections were quite good as usual.
This was the first time I ordered the Kabusecha in years, it was the sleeper of the order ... turned out exceptionally well.
Yutaka Midori, awesome ... the particles were not nearly as fine this year. I think it was a more interesting selection than years past.
Aoi. This is simply my go to asamushi. I enjoy it very much every year and this year is incredibly good.
Asatsuya. Interesting, but not as "corny" as I recall. Not sure I will reorder it this time around.

Not sure I ever suggested that you try brewing with cooler temps. I accidently brewed Aoi rather cool and was astounded how sweet it turned out.
140* +/-

I know it's winter and all but if you want something special, brew the Aoi with ice...

I have an unopened bag of O-cha Kabusecha so maybe I’ll try that at a low temperature.

That would be good selection to attempt brewing at lower temps.
I think I was at around 140°.

Another sencha order arrived today from O-Cha, just in time before the Nor'easter hits!
Lots of goodies, AOI at the TeaTable tomorrow morning.
WooHoo.

When does shincha hit the market? I never thought I'd say this, but sencha has become the tea I want to consume most often!

Can't wait to try your HK stored sencha.
Last year pre-orders for shincha from O-cha started mid-April, and I think it was delivered towards the end of May.

lol my HK storage for sencha = unopened bags in the fridge.
Cool, I don't want to pay the ridiculous prices for Chinese greens so I'll wait for sencha. Cheaper and safer IMO!

I may look into getting the Zhejiang government-certified ShiFeng longjing we get down here in sealed containers once it hits the market! There's a lot of pre-order madness for longjing right now. Prices are nuts and you have no idea what quality will be like. No thanks!
