I don't want to pay the ridiculous prices for Chinese greens so I'll wait for sencha. Cheaper and safer IMO!
i think that sencha is really good on value.
~$20 can get you a 100g pouch of pretty good stuff. if i drink it all the time i get kind of burned out on it though.

The problem is I can drink so much more gaoshan while still feeling less caffeinated.
Otherwise it would be sencha all the time.

I have the complete opposite problem! Green gaoshan can give me chest discomfort (and even minor palpitations) from the caffeine. The polyphenols in fresh sencha really lower the effects of caffeine on me and sometimes sencha puts me to sleep!

I agree with pedant on the burnout. While I love sencha, I drink different teas pretty much every day and enjoy the variety.

Sencha is really the only tea I drink, can't tell you the last time I drank any other tea. Well except at our fave Japanese restaurant.

I never tire of the aroma or other nuances with sencha.

Thes du Japon is my favorite. Remember to make your order in Japanese Yen rather than USD, significantly cheaper that way.

Haven't ordered from him, but The Tea Crane is supposed to be really good. Heavy focus on organic. He also just launched a Kickstarter for a tea subscription.
