I usually don't drink much Chinese green tea but this year I've decided to give a try to some fresh spring teas from Yunnan Sourcing and ordered the Yunnan "First Flush" Spring 2018 Green Tea Sampler which includes:

50 grams - Yunnan Green Spring Snail Bi Luo Chun Green tea * Spring 2018
50 grams - Early Spring "Yunnan Mao Jian" Pure Bud Green Tea * Spring 2018
50 grams - Feng Qing "Jade Dragon" White Pekoe Green Tea * Spring 2018
50 grams - Cui Ming Premium Yunnan Green Tea * Spring 2018
50 grams - Yunnan "Pine Needles" Green Tea from Mengku * Spring 2018



I'm hoping these will be as enjoyable as the Yunnan blacks that I've been ordering from them for a while now.

Is anyone else ordering Chinese green tea this spring?

The 2017 Jade dragon was pretty good, probably will be ordering again

I've been drinking certified organic Mingqian greens for a few weeks now And sencha as well. My oolong and pu buddies are mad at me for drinking green tea! lol

From Taiwan, for a couple of days I have been drinking what I call Sweet Perfect. Farmer/producer is the same etc. but a season later than what I call Perfect Green. A sweet flavor comes in addition to the light flavors of green tea that steeping very quickly in just off-the-boil water brings out. I call these teas "perfect" because I dislike strong taste or any bitterness one connects to vegetables when I drink tea. (We can get that directly from vegetables.) These teas never develop what I dislike no matter how brewed.

Sweet Perfect is providing 4 good infusions from a modest amount of leaves now. Perfect is providing only 3, but it is half a year older.

Very good & satisfying & cheap enough to drink in quantity & serve to people who are not into tea. Cheers

I've not loved Yunnanese greens, myself, but was blown away by the huangshan mao feng & anji baicha from "life in a teacup" - highly recommend checking out his 2018 offerings.

Anyone know when we should expect to see the spring harvests of anxi TGY start to be for sale?

You mean the green versions? The traditional roasted probably a few more months after spring due to roasting, re-roasting and resting periods.

i guess this year i will be close to 3-400g of various greens. mostly not from famous areas but nice for daily drinking although got 3-4 a bit more special in 50g samples. waiting for houkui to be ready and that will be the last stab to my wallet.

About bit more special ones I quite enjoyed a biluochun, wengjia longjing43. particular one green tea i never heard of before called wu you i ordered in 50g size just this week but seemed really nice when i tried from my friend. had some nice zi sun too that was good to boil as well, huangshan maofeng was nice. I should try to boil this wuyou when i get it.

hope i can drink all this stuff and the japanese ones i recently got before it turns stale.

So far has been a lovely spring with no intention to stop drinking green but we will see when sheng samples and maocha hit what will happen.
