Greetings , was wondering how his green tea's are. Very unique organic tea's with no fertilizer or pesticides and allowed to grow wild. Has anybody had his tea's and how are they ? I know he does sencha, kabusecha and gyukuro and I think he has matcha also. I figure not a lot of umami and lots of grassy and wild herbal notes. His tea is grown in Kizugawa far south Kyoto and very close to Nara. He processes with stems and whole leaves and his kabusecha is covered for almost 20 days. It is machine harvested but looks hand rolled and processed. I'm going to try it and was wanting some input on his tea's. It sounds unique and probably has a different type of flavor than typical type growing

There are a few places on the internet that sell Tokuya Yamazaki tea's and Teacrane.com would probably be the last place I would order from. He marks his tea up 20 to 30% over others and where it should actually be in price. He is all about selling mystique to newbies who are unaware and will allow themselves to get price gouged and I warned him years ago and he just made a bunch of excuses for it. He is now out of business and has been selling off the last of whatever he had and his store has been long gone in Kyoto. Japanese green tea aficionado's usually don't buy into hokey mystique and spiritualism and are about the tea and not stories to price hike your products. He did this to himself and was warned and chose not to listen to experience and now is out of business. Enough on that subject. The question is ,who has had Tokuya Yamazaki green tea ? His tea sounds good but can't find any feedback on how it is and that is usually telling. I get a feeling it is decent but also probably forgettable. I still want to get some and would like real feedback on it and not from sellers on the web. I found out he is also making dark tea's also and there is no feedback on them either. I hope this isn't just all hype and I buy some and it just taste like midrange organic Japanese green tea. Any feedback on how the tea is in actuality by experienced Japanese green tea drinkers would be much appreciated. Thank You
I didnt know he is going bankrupt! I never ordered from him but ive always been keen on more naturally produced teas. Hojo sells some that i really enjoy. And the hon yama umegashima teas from thes du japon from essentially abandoned plots are also very good imo. Who else sells tokuya teas?
