“Running low on Sencha, what to do?” Panic buy toilet paper! Ah wrong situation :)

Sorry, couldn’t help it, every time I see this headline, that reply popped into my mind...

Hope everyone is fine and don’t forget to laugh!

I can't say that was one of the items I feared I would run out of. I have been more concerned with running out of bottled water, or heaven forbid...tea!

"USPS EN056913437JP, Delivered 03/20/2020 1:04pm READING PA 19605 Reply STOP to cancel" ... tracking.

Sencha order just arrived from O-Cha. I virtually never order sencha this late prior to shincha. But the situation being so fluid and uncertain, I decided to amp up reserves just in case Shincha is delayed any step of the way. And there are numerous possible scenarios that could delay it.

According to Kevin at O-Cha, he does not expect delays in harvesting, processing, packaging ... key word here is "expect" ...

Ok, so assuming all that occurs.

Then there is order fulfillment, shipping Japan side, shipping destination country.

This order went through w/out any hitches whatsoever. I was truly expecting minor delays every step of the way.

Package is currently in "house quarantine." Jo is yelling "WIPE IT DOWN WIPE IT DOWN ... " which I surely will.

Plus what I already had, I should be ok for a while if there are any shincha delays.

W/out rationing, I have at least 2 months worth of Japanese greens that I like ... 3-4 months including a few selections that I do not like.

Just had the thought this morning—if you’re low on TP, would it be wise to stop drinking raw puerh?

If anything drink more, so you can use the wrappers... :)

But seriously, as long as you have soap and running water, you don’t even need toilet paper. People are prioritising the wrong things without using their brains.

Seems like as species, we’re not that smart after all.

I caved and just ordered 7x100g from Thes Du Japon. I forgot I had some USD in an account I bought a while ago (for far less than current fx rate), so with free shipping it was good value for me. Now I don't have to worry about running out. I'll place my Shincha order in the spring and have some fresh, and some to rest.

Okay, panic over back to normal life...oh yeah, that other 'thing' going on in the world.

Sure. Though I have to admit I didn't do a lot of research. I glanced at both the price and flavour notes and pulled the trigger if I thought it sounded good. These all start with "Sencha from..."
