Re: Yixing
hopeofdawn What kind of unusual are you looking for so I can keep one antenna tuned to it? Um ... I'll know it when I see it? ;) More generally--I guess I'm looking for pots that aren't just the standard classic shapes. Either they're new shapes/variations on the classics, or have well-done carving...

Re: Shipping Delays on tea
My teapot from @mudandleaves was ordered on 3/23, and arrived on 4/30. So a month+ here on my end for shipping ...

Re: Yixing
What kind of new designs are you thinking about? If you look at OCTO's teapot from another thread, that's quite contemporary :D Pretty much anything that's not the traditional shui ping, shi piao, xi shi and the like--I'm not looking for a particular design (anymore) so much an interesting new take...

Re: Novák & Randová Teaware
Very nice!
One of the better things about being forced to work from home all the time--I have access to all my tea and teaware, not just my office stash.

Re: Yixing
Possibly a weird question: when I look at yixing, I don't even really look at any claims of antique clay/pots/etc. because I don't have the expertise to assess those claims and it's not a priority for me. I much prefer modern pots with good craftsmanship/decent clay and visually appealing designs. ...

Re: Yixing
Might be used... I remember it being kind of reddish, and clearly photos contribute to misremembering... I will try to go back to the store as soon as it is possible to do so. Look at the pic I found of the other (probably-)European pot in a different light, same day, same phone camera. Look, hopeo...

Yes, thank you, I considered it when I was looking at ML zhuni pots. Can I ask you about the grey teapot in the back? I recently saw one that looked similar to it and I really liked it but got confused because I was told that it was specifically for yancha. :?: Bok is correct, it is a Petr Novak po...

Re: Yixing
My pot from mudandleaves finally arrived! I ordered it towards the end of March, and the outer box was rather worn and dented in places ... you could definitely tell it had been sitting for a while in a pile of packages somewhere, and I was afraid it might have damaged the delicate portions of the ...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?
I would love to see someone crack the secret water formula with distilled water and easily available additives. Qi Fine Teas in Portland has some premixed mineral additives, designed for people who don't have access to really good water and have to go the RO or distilled water route (one of the cus...

Re: Ode to the Kyusu
Regarding cleaning filters--I've often found that when I'm dealing with fine leftover particles, a reverse rinse (putting the spout opening of the pot underneath a fast running faucet and letting the water flow back into the pot) often helps clear things out as well.

Re: Shipping Delays on tea
I ordered a pot from Mud and Leaves that I'm eagerly looking forward to--sadly, it's been stuck at the 'origin post is preparing shipment' stage since March 26th and hasn't moved. I knew it might take longer, but it's still frustrating to see no progress at all after almost four weeks.
