Re: What Green Are You Drinking

I haven't posted in a while, though I do check out the latest posts a few times a week. After opening a 2022 Sincha from O-Cha today and having a wonderful tea session, I had a strong desire to post something. After getting 'serious' with tea, Sencha was one of the first teas that really grabbed me....

Re: Your day in matcha

It has been a long time since I've posted on this forum. I don't even peruse very much. I've been trying to limit my computer/internet time, spending more time outdoors, and less multi-tasking. That said, I did get back into Matcha in the last month, after stopping by this forum and seeing this thre...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I’m having a late 90’s Sho, a tea I’ve had many times before, but this time it’s 8pm and I’m seeing if it will impact my sleep. Hopefully not!

Re: Tea: Recovering from an Injury

however, the thoughts about the injury and what it stops you from doing, is a distraction. I discovered gong fu style brewing while recovering from a fractured elbow (resulting from a bike accident as well :|). I was doing PT sessions every day and the pain was almost overbearing - during the sessi...

Re: Tea: Recovering from an Injury

Thanks all for the well wishes and sharing of experiences. This morning’s Shu was an enjoyable session! In addition to Shu in the morning, I ha e either Sencha or Goashan in the afternoon and then either an aged Sheng, or another Shu (aged) after dinner. Tea has, I believe, always had positive effec...

Tea: Recovering from an Injury

I had a tumble on my bike yesterday and today I *tried* to enjoy tea in a few sessions throughout the day. I thought of this from a couple of different perspectives: 1) Are there teas with anti-inflammatory properties, or other pain-fighting properties? 2) Can you practice a tea session in a way tha...

Re: Shipping from China update

nobody wins, except perhaps the shipping companies. I hope this is really due to a lack of flights and that it will eventually sort itself out. I have enough tea to get by until Gaoshan season next spring, if not longer. :P Maybe this will finally force me to drink those aging Darjeelings... In the...

Re: Best Tea Tray Materials/Features?

I've skirted my TAD for a while now, purchasing more leaf. However, as I sit here looking at my $50 Bamboo tray (enjoying a 90's Shu) I'm now thinking it's time to add a more provocative tray, like pretty much any of the ones above!

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Noonie: good to see that you're enjoying a more humidly-stored example; I think that you'll find that there are plenty of good ones out there, albeit that they can be hard to find from Western-facing online sources. After a week of being too busy for a proper tea session (including some days with n...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I placed an order from YeeOnTeaCo and was gifted a sample of 2004 Yunnan Import and Export Corporation 8582 Raw Pu-erh Tea . Lot's of firsts for me! - first order with this vendor - first 'HK storage' / 'traditional storage' (forgive me if I have that incorrect, but I recall James on TeaDB saying so...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

2007 Yi Pin Tang "Yi Wu Zhi Chun" Raw Pu-erh from Yunnan Sourcing (US) I haven't had much sheng lately, mainly because I didn't really like the one cake I had opened; also because my morning tea is shu and then I'll have either sencha, gaoshan or aged shu later in the day. The sheng I had opened wa...

Re: Your day in tea

Went to Floating Leaves today, and picked up a bunch of new tea! I got some Four Seasons, their GABA oolong, the ”Tradional High Mountain” which is slightly more oxidized than most gaoshan (I’m most excited to try this), and the Gui Fei. They threw in a generous sample of the competition style baoz...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

2021 Ming Qian Green Tea from Ha Giang, Vietnam: Slight umami, no bitterness and an aroma like walking through a meadow. Its notes are baozhong like but not as forward. Its soft, sweet and gives off a high elevation mountain air note that was fantastic. I brewed it with very short steeps in a Kohok...

Re: What are your bad habits during tea sessions?

I have many of the same bad habits noted above. But I'm going to put a different spin on it; forgive me if it seems off topic. I work and have a family, as well as many other interests. The time I spend on tea is quality time for me, given the time I have available, even though many sessions come wi...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

I haven't been on any forums much these days, as I was taking a break...but I still perused them at least once a week. "Winter is Coming" and I have more time, and find during this time of year I like to focus more on tea sessions. One thing I wanted to solve is having a low caffeine tea at night, t...
