Re: Tea Varietals
The same problems that occurred on TeaChat exist here as well. There are many who feel they are gatekeepers, though no one gave them that authority. Why they need to be condescending instead of helpful is beyond me. OP: Camellia Sinensis var. Sinensis is smaller leafed and prefers cooler climates. C...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
I forgot I had a sample of 2005 Red Star 7581 from Bitterleaf Teas so I brewed it up today. It's super clean tasting, which is nice since I'm really much more of a sheng drinker.

Re: Tea and Me Blog
Wow, congratulations on the 2018 World Tea Award for Best Tea Blog! That is amazing! Your website is absolutely beautiful and I really like your blogging style. I am working to get my own and I will get there eventually. Also, as a few collaborations are going through, I had never thought to add a ...

Re: Tea and Me Blog
Welcome to the wonderful world of tea blogging! I think most of us start our blogs for the same reason that you did. I had a passion for tea and wanted to share it with others. I started my blog Tea for Me Please ( https://www.teaformeplease.com ) in 2008. My favorite teas are puerh and oolongs. I l...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking
Today I really enjoyed Yunnan Sourcing's Imperial Mojiang Golden Bud Yunnan Black Tea (Autumn 2018). It's super malty and sweet with some of the softest, blingiest leaves I've seen in a while. So many trichomes! Kind of regretting only getting 50g of it.

Re: Travelling to New York City
*google maps gives walking directions that instruct you to walk to the ferry, ride across the Hudson River, and then continue on foot to your destination. It would probably just be easier to take the PATH to 9th Street. Setsugekka and a lot of the East Village shops are a decent walk from there :lo...

Re: All about silver
I wonder if drinking out of a silver cup like what crimson lotus sells would give a good idea of what a tea would taste like if actually brewed in silver. Like brew in porcelain and drink it out of the silver cup. I LOVE my silver cup but the effect has been quite subtle so far. It's hard to put my...

Re: Musings on Dancong…
I've really enjoyed Wuyi Origin's dancongs. Last night I tried the Fan Shu Xiang, sweet potato fragrance. It was quite a bit more roasted and savory than other dancongs I've tried. There was definitely a sweet yammy quality to it, which I'm sure is where the name came from

Re: Novak Teaware
Thanks! I bought it second hand from someone on TeaChat years ago. It was a lucky find since his work has gotten a lot more popular since then. I use it for high-end yancha since it only holds about 3g of leaf.

Re: Novak Teaware
I have three Novak pieces. They're all among my favorites. I can't say that I've noticed a difference from the clay that he uses but the aesthetics are wonderful :) https://scontent-lga3-1.cdninstagram.com/vp/4fee7ea312492a8e17675bb7d08da02c/5CD9EA07/t51.2885-15/sh0.08/e35/s750x750/18722388_13287178...

I've enjoyed their Da Hong Pao and Huang Guan Yin over the years. They're a solid source for most Chinese teas.
Re: Hagi
All but the waste water bowl on the bottom left are from TeaChat special orders many moons ago. They're still some of my favorite pieces. https://scontent-lga3-1.cdninstagram.com/vp/8307f416af4f8ef8636b026cce89682e/5BC0EA22/t51.2885-15/s640x640/sh0.08/e35/20214361_220128108512613_7927736976684351488...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic
For Japanese green tea, I really enjoy the selections at Yunomi.life.
http://yunomi.life/
They carry a dizzying array of teas, including some that are really hard to find. I'm also addicted to the black tea that was smoked with Japanese whiskey barrels.

You're to-do list is pretty spot on. I'd also add T Shop:

If you are a fan of matcha, I definitely recommend a quick visit to Setsugekka:
