Re: Please some advice on Dancong
I have spent a good amount of time trying to source quality DC. Nothing I have been able to get ever holds a candle to tea habitat. I am currently working my way through about a dozen different samples from hojo, but im afraid Imen has ruined me. Do be careful when looking for "budget" Dancong. Dop...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
When does the gaoshan spring harvesting begin? I heard it will be a little late this year due to weather. When should we expect to see it start hitting the market?

Re: Ageing Zhuni Clay
Some great thoughts here, and my stance remains unchanged.
Nothing will make you more cynical and un-trusting, than being a westerner and trying to collect yixing
Back to focusing on the leaf.

Re: Ageing Zhuni Clay
Which brings up a point... Everyone always says that a true Zhuni must be from before factory era pots. Looks like a real zhuni could be made, brand new tomorrow. How much clay is out there? Being that there is no way to "prove" that clay is zhuni, how can we tell if a modern pot is made from old st...

Re: All about silver
I missed your cleaning question, and i have an amazing trick. Never scrub it! Ever! Take a glass bowl and line it with aluminum foil. Place the pot on it and pour some baking soda on it. Then pour hot water over the whole thing. This causes a chemical reaction that will draw the tarnish off the silv...

Re: All about silver
I wonder if drinking out of a silver cup like what crimson lotus sells would give a good idea of what a tea would taste like if actually brewed in silver. Like brew in porcelain and drink it out of the silver cup. sometimes I want to really elevate everything and taste the full complexity of the te...

All about silver
Often overlooked, we all talk about yixing so much. I figured we should have a thread dedicated to all things silver in tea ware. I have a silver pot that I absolutely adore. It was purchased from Yunnan Sourcing for $420. This is the only western facing vendor I have seen that regularly has stock. ...

Re: Combining Tea with other Interests
I play League of Legends. Same username too! Starcraft II and Dota II for me. I am a Nintendo fan! Recently I played Dark Souls, in which I discovered I should never drink any good quality tea while playing - there is no pause button (and that is only the least of your worries while playing)! Oh, t...

Re: favorite Gaoshan (high mountain) vendor
nothing like the yeasty, rather dull dongfang meiren that I usually encounter. I have yet to encounter an Oriental Beauty that I could call sophisticated, I only ever had the sort mentioned above... Not bad, but not terribly interesting in that I would consider to buy some. Most of the jassid bitte...

favorite Gaoshan (high mountain) vendor
I think Gaoshan (Taiwanese high mountain oolong) tea is loved enough that it deserves to have its own vendor topic. This is the tea where my heart truly lies. Who are your favorite vendors? Tillerman is my current go to. Top quality and very well curated. I have also had good luck with Taiwan tea cr...
