Re: Yixing

Beautiful pots! The level of the forum is getting higher and higher :) It is cloudy here too, taking advantage of it to snap a few shots... ./download/file.php?id=4955 ./download/file.php?id=4956 Beautiful pot with a very harmonious and pleasing shape. Looking at the carving, is it late Qing/ROC?

+1 for rehydrating with Boveda packs. Warm summer weather will also help it a bunch.

Re: Yixing

@Mafaldine That's really awesome! Quite a little treasure. :D

PS. Just in case: Be careful to preheat it before each use to avoid thermal shock.

Re: Yixing

Would anyone be able to ID this pot? I got it from my grandma who told me her father got it when she was 12 (placing it at around 1954). Looks plausible. The base seal is called "Jingxi Nan MengChen zhi", used up till the 60's. Might be quite collectible. :D Try to post better pictures of it in thi...

Re: Yixing

I have already seen this style a couple of times on eBay. Personally, I like the F1 version better, but it's still a nice pot. A popular target among Yixing forgers  What is the likelihood of somebody forging a run of a mill ROC pot and selling it heavily chipped in France for 100euro. Or are ...

Re: Yixing

From there photos.... it's a later year replica of a ROC pot. Workmanship is decent but nothing to wet your pants over... hahahaha...... Cheers! The photo of the chipped underside of the lid looks like the pot has a "black bone". Wouldn't this indicate woodfiring and late qing/ROC period? EDIT: By ...

Does putting a seal with the name of a different potter count?
Is that a hommage or a forgery? Both can have high artistic values.

Re: Yixing

@.m. And you don't find the sticker suspicious? Some people say that every sticker of the green label period has to look the same because F1 was state-owned, and some say that they can differ. It's really confusing. ./download/file.php?id=4487 It's the middle sticker in this photo, right? It is def...

Re: Yixing

I was asking about the other teapot (https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic.php?p=21054#p21054). If you think that's clearly a fake I would like to hear a reason for it. If even Chinese guys think that this one is genuine it can't be that obvious, can it? I can't tell you if the kettle is authentic, de...

Re: Future Sale project: Qing/ROC Pearskin Zhuni

It's a nice pot. But how are you going to attach the wire structure to the body so that it doesn't fall off one day? There is not much left of the top part of the handle. Are you gonna drill into the pot? Or make a ring around the body? 🤔

Re: Yixing

I'm in the MarshalN-camp when it comes to raising pots, When using it, I almost never pour water over the pot, nor tea. There’s a reason for this, especially if your water source is high in minerals – over time, there will be a nasty ring of mineral deposits on your pot, usually right around the ed...
