Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Yesterday, had Xiaguan TeJi tuo from 2004 that went through HK wet storage. did 5g/100ml. Smoke was still present and similar in notes to Islay Port Charlotte whisky I was sipping night before - minus alcohol:). Then some slightly fruity and mineral tones in later steeps. Not bad at all. and kept go...

Re: KingTeaMall
After experimenting with shuiping i am fine with pour. When filled with tea it takes about 8-12 s to get empty. Fine for me

Re: KingTeaMall
I have that shuiping too, in 90ml version. So far performs well. I use it for yancha. I have very little comparison but compared to porcelain gaiwan it produces tea that is less harsh. Also the clay soaked with tea smells very nice.

Re: Yixing
lopin what matters is the thickness of the walls, even the spout is medium thick in my book. 150 is way to big for Yancha, unless you are a big spender haha! Also with the thickness in mind, even less suitable. Don’t know about the pour speed, but anything slower than 6 seconds is not ideal for Yan...

Re: Ode to the Kyusu
No idea how to judge lead risk of glaze without a chemical test....I have plenty of cups with crackles and other interruptions to their glaze, but they're all from potters I trust to not use any leaded glaze. https://live.staticflickr.com/4630/39681572455_8d4fe2582c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.co...

Re: Ode to the Kyusu
The new kyusu looks like stoneware, the other two darker brown ones look like Banko. Interesting collection. Yes other two are bankos, i just recognised that bigger one received chip on the spout since i post it last time. They are all same style with smalest one and middle one having knobs rotatin...

Re: Ode to the Kyusu
New brother to my swirling knob crew. This time strangely fired, decorated with painting. Not sure what clay or kiln is that. Happy for any guidance. Also it came with set of cups. I have similar ones with similar low quality/ crackled, holed glaze and i am bit afraid to use them for lead concern. A...

Re: Yixing
lopin some sort of hongni clay I guess. But it looks rather thick or medium walled, so probably suitable for aged, more roasted teas. Doesn’t look like pure hongni to me, blended with something. Too shiny as well and the tone doesn’t seem right for Zhuni. So all in all something modern with a hongn...
