Re: US Vendor sourcing from WuyiOrigins?
Not so secret if you use the farms name in the tea’s naming... might want to adjust that if you want to keep it a secret  While we didn't use the name of the farm, we definitely hinted towards which one it is. We are proud to be carrying his teas and would love to be able to advertise the ...

Re: US Vendor sourcing from WuyiOrigins?
Sure, I probably ended up paying 100-150 in international shipping last year, but I'm pretty sure that if I'd had to buy all those teas from a local retailer the markup would add up to way more than that. This isn't always true. Our Taiwanese Oolong farmer sells online as well, and we were able to ...

Re: US Vendor sourcing from WuyiOrigins?
Any reason that's necessary? Cindy's shipments always come quite fast, and with pretty cheap shipping, certainly no more than the markup you'd pay from a US-based shop. Last year I paid more than 100$ for shipping. specialized vendors in China that I have ordered from in the past (pu-erh, white, gr...

Re: US Vendor sourcing from WuyiOrigins?
I'm not sure that it was here, but I have heard about a U.S based vendor taht is sourcing yancha from Cindy Chen (Wuyi Origins). Anyone here heard something like this and perhaps know who that vendor is? Any reason that's necessary? Cindy's shipments always come quite fast, and with pretty cheap sh...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Didn't measure anything, but about 6-7g of tea in a 100ml gaiwan, water around 190-200 degrees, quick rinse, then probably... 15s+15s each for first few steeps, then closer to 3-5 minutes each for later steeps. Did around 7 steeps or so. Can still taste it despite finishing ~2 hours ago. HY Chen is...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Drinking an unroasted winter Dong Ding from HY Chen. So delicious. This is going to sound horrible, but it reminds me of big red gum.
Such a delicious cinnamon-y sweetness to it. Chen's Oolongs really are something special.

Re: What to brew when having a cold
We were told by one of our Taiwanese farmers that when you are sick you should drink heavy roasted darker teas as opposed to green teas.
Just one person's opinion.

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Starting a long tea day with Yingzhi Hongxin Baozhong from Wenshan. I’ve had about 10 other Baozhongs before in my life but last week my friend gave me my first from Wenshan. It had a strong nutty characteristic that I liked. This one tilts more to floral/butter. https://i.imgur.com/CJGrHr6.jpg We ...

Re: Retail Profits in Specialty Tea
Discussion is interesting. I wonder how many of the vendors participating in it, make a living solely from being a tea vendor! One needs many transactions when people like to buy small amounts, & the cost of marketing to get more transactions is terribly high. When I wanted to buy a tea from Jun Ch...
