Re: Palette for Green(er) Tea
If you have mainly been drinking Japanese Greens and Taiwanese Oolongs, then you can explore Greens and Oolongs from other various countries before trying other tea types that your palate may not prefer. In spite of your not liking more oxidised teas, you could even try a black like Darjeeling which...

Re: Help me match my pots with some tea
Yes, but a lot less than zini/qingshuini Hi steanze, saw some of your posts on clayware, quite helpful. I have 3 pots I bought from EoT that I use as follows: Zini for aged Sheng, Qing Shui Ni for roasted Oolongs, Hongni for Hong (I'm thinking of turning this into an all purpose pot instead of one ...

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
<...> I have a question, what is meant by very clean storage? Like the opposite of sitting in a room with the shop owner chain smoking? No off odors and such? I don't think smell has much to do with it, puerh hardly has anything much in the way of aromatics anyways compared to other teas. For me, n...

Re: Classic pu?
Don't bother too much about what the recipe numbers mean, it is mostly not of much relevance. Even the leaf grade isn't particularly an indication of quality since larger leaves and blends of different leaf sizes are used for puerh manufacture, unlike other tea types where bud plus two adjacent leav...

Re: Classic pu?
Classic pu equals standard factory recipes. Get samples of various factory recipes and then buy a cake of the one you like best.

Re: When to ask for a refund on lost shipment
Shipments from China take anywhere from two weeks to two months to be delivered to me. At rare times, they do get delivered after two months too, but the chances of receiving it after 3 months are negligible. I keep two months post shipping date as a deadline before contacting the vendor and then mu...

Re: Charcoal for improving water
Thanks guys! My tap water is horrible so I use bottled water gallons for making tea, I just thought the charcoal was interesting It is the same with me. My tap water is hard, so I purchase RO filtered water for my drinking and cooking etc. There is no need of charcoal for your purchased bottled wat...

Re: Ripe/raw puerh storage?
Yeah, I thought something like bitter melon would ruin a tea, but it actually turned out to taste pretty good - though it was with a roasted TGY and not puerh that I had it with. Same for rose & jasmine, I've only tried them with non-puerh teas so far as I recall. Bamboo, osmanthus, chen-pi are all ...

Re: Charcoal for improving water
I see that Yunnan Sourcing sells a bamboo charcoal for improving water, and Chawangshop has an olive charcoal for this as well. Anyone have any experience with this? If you use a commercial filter for your water, then you don't need this. If you use water straight from the tap, and if the water has...

Re: Ripe/raw puerh storage?
<...> Psyck, it'd be more interesting to know your actual opinion on this. Are you saying that you would be happy to keep your ripe puer in an enclosed space with your decent sheng Pu? <...> My views on puerh storage are mentioned in an earlier post on this forum: https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic...

Re: Ripe/raw puerh storage?
<...> Lesson re-learned: don't expose your tea to any odours/aromas that you don't want it to absorb. <...> But! What about the odours/aromas that you do want it to absorb? Surely every regular puerh drinker has at the very least several samples of pu that one does not care too much about and could...
