I tried baking soda on this pot. Some of the stain came off but looks like the rest is resitsting:
What should I try next?

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
" …The other mold situation is storage of puerh tea in plastic containers, such as plastic tubs. Plastic has no ability to breathe. There is no air flow, no cracks or anything porous. " My thoughts are that the plastic container does not buffer well against sudden temperature changes since those pl...

Re: Your day in matcha
How much is 3 scoops in grams? I'll have to measure my next matcha session; I've been eyeballing so long I do not know my quantities. I've read that 1.5 scoops is 2 g so 3 scoops should be around 4 g but I'll measure next time. I'm more curious whether I use too much water (8 oz) for my ~4 g of mat...

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
I was just talking to one of the larger vendors about how tea blogging goes now, how it's essentially over, because people would rather check out a set of Instagram photos with a 50 word description than read 500-1000 words. I essentially never write a post that short, so who knows who could make i...

Re: Your day in matcha
Haven't had matcha in a long time. Decided to fix that
Speaking of matcha, what ratios are y'all using? I used 3 scoops of matcha powder for 8 oz of water (160F). First stirred the matcha in 1 oz of room temp water to dissolve the powder, then added 7oz of 160F water.

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
Yeah, the plastic layer is actually just to keep the Boveda packs from coming in direct contact with the tea wrappers. Not that direct contact should be an issue at all, the fact that I insist on having that layer is probably a mild OCD manifestation, hah :) I keep my puer in ziplocks (or more comm...

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
Just to make sure I understand this, each cake is placed in a plastic bag (ziplock) but the ziplock is open?

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
I also use distilled water and make sure hands are as close to sterile as I can manage when handling the boveda recharging procedure. Is there a link to the Boveda recharging procedure anywhere? Also, I see a lot of plastic in the pictures above. Is that to protect the cakes from each other (if one...

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
Seeing how many of you store your cakes in medium to large size plastic storage bins, I'm tempted to try it myself. I am slightly concerned that there won't be any ventilation inside the container for months. Or is that not an issue? I would find it difficult to take anyone's advice or input as an ...

Re: Ode to the Kyusu
Just curious, what gave it away as Western-made? haha, some details just did not look like Japanese potters would do it and the overall feel has a Western touch to it. In the sense of that all the elements are there, but the way they connect and would normally form a harmony born out of function an...
Re: Can someone ID this cup?
I know it's a long shot but maybe someone knows who made this cup or whether it's still available for purchase anywhere... https://i.imgur.com/CPt3TEr.jpg Hi Welcone to TeaForum OhThatNinja. I hope it is okay, I moved your post here to Hagi topic. Your guinomi/yunomi looks to be Aohagi. Not sure wh...
Re: Hagi
that looks very like a Yamane Seigan cup from a TeaChat special offer. Mine was a large cup holding about a pint/500mL. I say was, because I gave it to a former colleague who loved to share tea with me. https://live.staticflickr.com/1311/5108735643_2f6be03e18_z.jpg Oh, it sure looks like yours. Tha...
