Taking Notes
I recently placed an order from a local supplier who at this time of year has a 50% off sale, and I selected small quantities of many teas I’ve never tried (like two white teas and several Chinese greens). Not sure if it will heighten my tea experience or be a nuisance, but I was going to make notes...

Longjing: Sources and Brewing
Over the years I’ve had Longjing now and then. I recently picked some up from Camellia Sinensis in Canada, after having a free sample in a previous order. I really like it! It’s fresh tasting like Sencha (my favourite), with a slight nutty/toasty flavour. What are some other sources for this tea, th...

Re: Planning trip to Japan or Taiwan
Thank you, Bok. This is really good information. I’ll be sure to reach out here as I have more questions. One thing I’ll say now, as an avid cyclist I would definitely like to spend some time riding in the lower mountains during the trip. Tea and cycling would make for a great experience! Living in ...

Planning trip to Japan or Taiwan
My favourite teas are Sencha and High Mountain Oolong. One day, maybe in a few years, I would like to visit one of these countries to explore local tea culture. I haven't done any research, beyond watching videos on YouTube. Once I choose a location, I would spend some time on-and-off over the next ...

Re: What are you doing when drinking tea
Great variety of responses, thanks.
I would like to start taking notes, for new teas especially, but maybe generally to add to the experience too.

Re: Introduce Yourself
How long have you been drinking tea? Then one day teavana opened up in the local mall....you can see where this is going. I bought some dragon well green and some high mtn oolong then sat down with my phone and started digging. Few years later I was in California at red blossom tea company buying a...

What are you doing when drinking tea
As a middle-aged dad, husband, Home owner and employee, I find myself multi-tasking a lot. When I drink tea, I usually multi-task as well, which is probably taking away from the possibility of having a calm, mindful experience. I still love the flavour of the tea even though I’m busy while drinking ...

Re: Lets talk about Da Yu Ling
What type of pot do you use with your DYL or LiShan? I almost always use a glazed gaiwan, but would be interested to know of alternatives that work for you.

Re: gaiwan or teapot?
I could never bring myself to like gaiwans, I do not like the way they look nor how they handle and brew the tea. I find myself having much more control with a teapot. For neutral testing I just use a porcelain teapot. For anything else Taiwanese glazed(outside only) or woodfired. I love that I can...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
While I usually order Sencha from one of several tea vendors in Japan, I placed an order recently with camellia-sinensis.com here in Canada. I was pleasantly surprised by the unique flavours of the two teas: Sencha Ashikubo and Sencha Nagashima Organic. I brewed the same parameters as usual, but cut...

Love the photos!
I feel lucky that I chose not to go down the teaware rabbit hole. I buy 1-2 teaware items a year, and focus on the tea instead. But your photos make me reconsider

Re: Introduce Yourself
How long have you been drinking tea? Close to 10 years, last 7 much more seriously. What kind of tea do you drink? Favourite is Sencha, followed by High Mountain Oolong, Wuyi and lastly, Matcha. How do you prepare your tea? Eastern style, usually based on vendors recommendations. What tea knowledge...

Thanks for sharing. I like to read about tea, watch videos, and now I can add a podcast to the methods of absorbing anything Tea related.
