With climate change, these teas are seen at higher and higher elevations, alas.

Re: Tillerman Tea
@LeoFox, I use the last song on the album "Tea for the Tillerman" as my ring tone. Oh well, we all have our eccentricities.

Re: Tillerman Tea
Victoria , I certainly do plan on bringing in more of both of those teas when the spring 2021 harvest is available. And, if Laoshi will allow it, I'll bring in a larger quantity. For now the only Chen Huan Tang tea I have in stock is the winter 2020 dong ding (it's in stock only because I committed...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
I have written before that although I understand noticing aromatic similarities may be fun (or unavoidable), I think being able to truly enjoy a tea does not require referencing other sensory experiences, just as enjoying an apple pie does not require being reminded of an oolong tea. . Here, here. ...

Re: Yancha lovers?
LeoFox , I'm afraid that I don't find these suggestions particularly helpful. There can be lots of reasons one uses more leaf, most notably because one prefers that taste. If the tea is poor, you will discover that as soon as you taste it and using more leaf won't help there. I, for example, use ab...

Re: Tillerman Tea
@LeoFox, thank you for the kind words. If you wish to have vacuum sealed packages, I can sell them to you (5.375 oz.). Can't do it through the website though - needs to be entered by hand so send me an email if you are interested. david@tillermantea.net.

Re: Tillerman Tea
@Ethan Kurland, you had to follow the series of questions between @LeoFox and me. They dealt with teas in vacuum sealed packages being repacked in pouches.

Re: Tillerman Tea
LeoFox , we're now getting into some pretty subjective territory; what you call deterioration, others might call development. My own view is that a quality unroasted gaoshan should remain "healthy" for a good six months. It won't taste exactly the same at the end of that period as it did at the out...

Re: Tillerman Tea
@LeoFox, the gaoshan tea i receive comes in vacuum sealed 150g packages . When I ship an order it is in a resealable compostable pouch with an oxygen absorber.

@Balthazar & @LeoFox. I also selected a Taiwanese oolong, but on a warm and sunny day here, I chose Winter Lishan from Zhang Xie Zhu's garden.

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
LeoFox , I'm really sorry to hear of your problems with OWT. They are really good, honest vendors and their higher priced teas are quite enjoyable (I must say, however, that your tasting notes are hilarious!). Another vendor I would suggest is Wuyi Origin, based in Wuyishan. The company is run by C...

Brewing Bai Hao (Oriental Beauty)
I have been experimenting with times and temperatures for brewing OB and have some early observations. When I brew with cooler water than is usual for most oolongs (185 ℉ or 85 ℃) and give a longer steeping time (60 sec. first steep) I get a tea that brings out the bug bitten notes more more clearly...
