Thank you for the link, I will look into it. It’s actually signed, if you are familiar with it.

Nice signature it looks sort of familiar, but I can’t put my finger on exact match.

Re: Celadon Appreciation

Japanese cup with forest and river. It has very light blue color, like a sky in a morning haze. The glaze is very smooth and thick. It has also fairly thick walls, so I’m still finding out what tea it is suitable for. I was told it’s quite old, but I’m not very experienced in antique porcelain, so ...

Re: Oolong Vendor Topic

Finally putting in a big order with HY Chen for roasted DongDing, roasted Lishan, a few blacks and bug bitten, but realizing now with Tillerman shuttered that I’ll need to source most low roast high mountain elsewhere. Hmmm

Re: Electric Kettles

My next kettle might be Stagg Corvo EKG Pro Electric Kettle, it’s pricy so on sale 8-). It has a faster pour than the gooseneck version, which is pretty slow.

Re: Electric Kettles

Recently I've dug out an electric kettle that I want to make use of. The parts that have contact with water are stainless steel, but the lid, the handle, and everything else is plastic. It does smell like a factory new DVD player. Do you have any reliable methods of removing such odors? I've tried ...

Re: Yixing

For stubborn pot smells I have tried vinegar, baking soda, citric acid soaks and boiling all with pretty limited success - nothing has worked as well for me as sodium percarbonate for any kind of cleaning. Yes, for my stinky smelly yixing the only thing that did the trick was sodium percarbonate af...

Re: Yixing

I'm currently fighting the incense smell that refuses to leave it. I'm not a fan of incense at all and the last place I want that smell is in my tea. I have done what feels like everything yet the smell persists. Sleepy I recommend you first try the baking soda / white vinegar cleanse if you haven’...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Oh wow, seems CHT has been busy in the German-speaking areas: Austria: Rami tea Germany: _Teekontor Kiel (has a lot of different teas by him apparently) _Schnorr Frankfurt Switzerland _Shui Tang, Zürich And there seem to be more... I wonder what kind he is selling abroad, his teas are already a bit...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Chen Huan Tang's shop CHT is quite famous, there's a few Western vendors who get their teas from him. But I believe very few had gotten such a good price on his teas as Tillerman did. Long term relationship building pays off at some point! Bok , Can you share who these other vendors are? I only kno...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Sounds like a nice tea in an interesting pot! I'm encouraged by the fact that you can get a hold of some of Tillerman's teas. I've been wondering if I could find more of his Sweet Scented Dong Ding. I only know of Tillerman ’s Laoshi, Chen Huan Tang, in Taipei. Maybe try contacting Tillerman direct...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

I’ve been enjoying a nicely roasted Lishan by Chen Huan Tang (aka Tillerman ’s Laoshi) that a friend brought to me from his shop in Taipei. It is aromatic, nuanced and complex in the best way. The aroma and layered body is well presented steeped in this Konishi Yohei pear skin shudei kyusu. I think ...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Welcome to TeaForum @lakar. Like Debunix mentioned, temperature and time balance is critical with Japanese green tea. I usually start with vendor recommendation and then tweak temp and time to my preference. Keeping water on the cooler side usually helps to stave off bitterness.

Re: Ode to the Kyusu

Looks like that gorgeous little drip on the inside is a gift of the kiln ash spot? Maybe! I thought it might be an intentional drip of glaze given how localized it is and given its location on the interior. I interpreted as a drop made to echo the vertical brown stripes on the exterior. But I am no...
