Funny story, thanks for sharing. I think this would be the general attitude until the recent aged tea craze. There is nothing to suggest the type of the tea, aside that it was considered special, it could have been equally an oolong or hongcha.

The black spots look like bug eaten holes. The brown stains are tea, in a very moderate amount i tend to consider them as a good sign.

Look at fleemarkets, local classifieds, etc. Download pictures of catalogues for F1, especially from the Green Label era, those pots pop out once in a while, and so do old European export LQER pots.
