Re: Yixing

wave_code Definitely looks like ink to me. Maybe this pot was used as water dropper for calligraphy. The F2 looks a lot like mine which came with original packaging. This box is similar style to 70-80’s F1 boxes so my guess would be it is an early F2 pot rather than 90’s. Clay on mine looked like a...

Theekje superficially, it looks like Qingshuini clay from the green label period.

But the lid knob looks very atypically large, so it might be something else.
The lid shape looks oddly puffy. It sorta reminds me of the lids on early-mid 80’s guava pots. The base looks odd too right?

My meager contribution to the heixingtu topic. Mid 80's i think. Lovely clay indeed and a good craftsmanship.

Nice pot! This is a nice shape for this type of clay. It’ll prob take on a polished stone look after a bit of use.

Re: Yixing

DailyTX This clay is definitely one of my favorite zini blends in terms of look. I just wish I could find a shuiping in this clay but I don’t think that exist either. Chadrinkincat The lighter red color tone + duanni specks looks quite nice. I am not a shui ping person, maybe a guava shape would be...

Re: Yixing

Bok steanze Thank you for sharing! Would it be correct to say that the 4 character Zhongguo seal first appeared only sometime during the Cultural revolution (after 1966)? Is there any information as when did the different 6 character mengchen seals of 60s (and earlier) ended? As far as I know, some...

Re: Yixing

Yeah the very shiny looking first highlights basically have 45° angles camera to surface and back to a daylight window. So worst case I guess. Glad it does seem to check out though, digging through antique shops for clay pots is not an option around here :lol: /e does an English translation and pri...

@theredbaron
I highly doubt this one is a modern copy. Clay looks like early 80’s period. Around 350ml?

Duanni based reduction. Note the orange yellow Duanni still coming through in this dark olive pot.
