Re: In search of the daily RouGui

The yancha I drink daily retails for about $0.25/g to $0.5/g. I'm happy with it. I think that finding a smaller vendor whose tastes align with yours is a good way to reduce disappointment with lower cost teas.

Re: Leaky tea table fix?

A closer picture could help. From what I see, it seems whatever used hardened, but did not really bond to the stone. I would be tempted to see if some of it wanted to chip out. If I could get some of it removed, I would then flood the edges with epoxy, ideally all the way to around the brass nipple ...

Re: Pumidor discussion

I've used baking soda to remove odors, but always by washing down the entire inside with baking soda. I don't think just leaving it in there will do anything.

Re: Where can I find such tray/boat

Taobao, though I would be worried about it arriving in one piece. I'm sure there are better words, but you can search "圆形茶台" to find some good variety.

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Oh thank you. Very nice working set up you have. It is pretty nice how roasted oolongs change after the first year, if left unopened to age a little bit. Curious, how were the leaves stored if they were Spring 2017, but only roasted a few months go? Roasting halts enzymes from further oxidizing the...

2017 FuShoushan via HC Chen in my new favorite Emu shudei pot. So glad 2017 was richer, sweeter and more buttery than Spring 2016, since that was way too subtle for me. Saving a cup for you 🍃 Beautiful photo. You have inspired me to take a photo today; though I am at work at the moment so it is muc...

Visit to a Dehua Porcleain Factory

Hi Everyone, A while back I took a tour of a porcelain factory in Dehua, China. I finally got the photos up on the blog, and think some people here might be interested in taking a look. It was a lot of fun, and very interesting to see. I found it interesting to learn how the cups are formed. Visit t...

Where are you? Maybe the others here know you better, but I don't and it is hard to estimate shipping without knowing if it is close or far.

Re: Zhengyan Price Discrepancies

I won't give an opinion on the authenticity of any products other than my own. When I buy tea I try to make sure I pay what I think is the right price; the best you can do is pay the right price for the right tea. If you think you are getting a deal, it is likely that the real deal belongs to the te...

Re: Trusting Oneself & One's Tea

Searching for more & more pleasure by finding new teas, teaware, & water is interesting & rewarding; yet, for the last six months, I am realizing more & more that a few excellent teas; a smalll amount of teaware that provides some variety (in porosity, thickness of its walls, etc.); & good water, i...

Re: cheap/medium yancha

I'll give my perspective on yancha pricing. Zhengyan teas, as you are aware start to become available around the $1 and go up from there. Decent specimens of famous locations in the $2 to $3 range. Banyan (ie, grown outside the zhengyan area, but still grown inside the Wuyishan area) yancha generall...
