Re: Shipping delays from China?

Ippodo is also shipping from a US distribution center. But with higher prices than their Kyoto shop website, iirc. O-cha order arrived via Fedex from Japan to New York in 4 business days. I'll probably use Ippodo again next time I re-up on Sencha. Variety is the spice of life. Decisions... I didn’t...

Re: Shipping delays from China?

Yeah, nothing on that 17 site or other tracking sites. I just placed an order from O-cha, and they are only offering FedEx shipping to the US, so I guess this is a known thing in Japan too. Ippodo also had a similar message, saying they are only shipping DHL. Ippodo is also shipping from a US distr...

I heard that there’s a massive delay with packages stuck in Shanghai between March to May. My EOT package is among them 😕, it has been in Shanghai for the past 4+ months. Hopefully it will come before the year is over.
I’m hoping the April parcel contains a tea that’s meant to age.

Re: Shipping delays from China?

I’m in the EOT tea club so I get a package every month. Shipping times have improved for me with the exception of the April parcel which has been stuck in Shanghai since 5/19. The September parcel took 26 days but a chunk of that was delays in the US. Have you tried https://t.17track.net for trackin...

Re: FS: 1970s F1 Roubian Hongni, 75ml

I should have been sound asleep at 5 am but my cats woke me up and I began fretting about current events. Lucky me to have chosen to distract myself with the Tea Forum rather than the NY Times. This is exactly the size pot I was looking for and I love the shape - a refreshing change from my small co...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

I tend to think of Chinese greens as having a brief shelf life once opened. I just found a small amount of Ming Qian An Ji Bai Cha that had been sitting in a foil bag in my non-AC kitchen since April. There was just enough tea for two sessions in a 110 ml pot. I decided to experiment with brewing it...

Re: Yancha lovers?

The most expensive I've had is from EoT and it's their "Ai Jiao". I think its an amazing tea and "taught" me what yancha can be. I do realize it is more of a tease but I'm still satisfied with having it. At 100 grams for $62 the ai jiao is not expensive compared to a high-quality gyokuro. The speci...

New Wood Fired Teapots from Yixing and Qinzhou: https://www.mudandleaves.com/store/c33/New_Arrivals.html ./download/file.php?id=5703 On your site these pots are described as having 110 ml Volume but then further down in the details are described as holding 170 ml. Can you confirm which is correct?

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

By special order you mean last years Tokusen Gyokuro from Ippodo that we had for our inagural tasting? I’m thinking, if so them maybe you vaccum sealed some? Curious if flavor profile has evolved over time. Yes, it's the Tokusen Gyokuro from Ippodo, gorgeous stuff. It's hard to say if how much the ...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

@Victoria. Interesting brewing parameters. I didn’t buy any long jing this year, just TPHQ and anji bai cha. Some LJ is on the way to me from EOT tea club and I’m going to experiment with hotter water than I usually use. I have a Shawn McGuire that handles well even with very hot water.

Re: Smell of loofah pads

I’ll do the hot water test tomorrow. A little hot water didn’t have a negative effect but I don’t mind giving one of the rattan saucers a good soak. I gave one of the saucers a through soaking in water, not tea. If I hold it right up to my nose and take a very eep breath I detect a slight odor of r...

Re: Yixing

I’d like to buy an yixing pot that’s about 80 to 85 ml primarily for brewing young to middle-aged sheng. A modern pot is fine and I prefer simple shapes w/o decoration. I’ve tried reading through this thread and then looking at some of the shops that are mentioned. I end up dazed by all the conflic...
