Re: Hojo Response Delay

I sent another email last night and received an apology and invoice this morning. Apparently his original reply got stuck in his draft folder.

I’m afraid following Hojo on Facebook will aggravate my TAD. I’ll probably do it anyway.

Re: Hojo Response Delay

I was inspired by the post here about new kobiwako pots to rush over to Hojo’s site to reserve a 70 ml pot to complement my 110 ml pot. I heard back in 2 days and then the next day I sent in an order for the pot and several teas. That was 10/15, 2 weeks ago. I did resend my email several days later...

Re: Hojo Response Delay

I heard back in 2 days and then the next day I sent in an order for the pot and several teas. Good luck with your order... Out of curiosity, do you have previous experiences with Hojo's teas and comments you could share? I only purchase tea from Hojo when I’m ordering tea ware. I haven’t bought any...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I bought the 25 ml pot because it was described as being well made and brewing good tea. I need to limit my tea intake due to tummy troubles and if a Yancha or puer can last for 6 or 8 steeps I need a small pot. Here it is next to one of the cups. 667DE08E-08B5-46EF-A231-33379B2ED7E1.jpeg Here is th...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

2006 Shuan Yi Jing Mai Mountain raw pu'er from Yunnan Sourcing, A tea sample I had for a while from my what seem limitless stash of tea samples... I have many samples that I’ve had in my home for more than 5 years that are no longer available from the original vendors. Sometimes I hesitate to try t...

Re: Top electric kettle

I’ve been following that thread and the comparisons will be interesting. I was hoping for some feedback about durability here. My adagio kettle is accurate and sturdy but I miss some of the more refined features of the bonavita such as the ability to set an exact temperature.

Re: Top electric kettle

I’m resurrecting this topic because my 1L Bonavita kettle is either dead or dying. I bought it on Amazon Prime Day in July 2018 for $43 + another $6 for a warranty and for 15 months I’ve been happy. At least the warranty company stood behind their product and sent me an amazon e-gift card within min...

Re: What's the best tea for a sensitive stomach?

Janice, the Jin Luo is a golden snail type tea from Yunnan, like the stuff I was recommending from YS, I expect that it’s flavor profile will be much the same. About the b03c, I’m not seeing it on his list. Am I missing something? This is where I am looking https://hojotea.com/img/tealineup10.pdf I...

Re: What's the best tea for a sensitive stomach?

I’m ordering a pot from Hojo so I thought at the same time I’d try his Golden Bud Autumnal tea. It’s from Guangxi, not Yunnan. I’m hoping that’s close enough to have the same gentle qualities. The Jin Luo? B20C on his tea list? What pot are you getting? The Golden Bud is b03c. I was considering tha...

Re: What's the best tea for a sensitive stomach?

I can’t do Japanese greens on an empty stomach at all. If I’m already not feeling good, I also can’t do roasted teas. The best teas for me to drink when my stomach or acid reflux is giving me trouble is pretty much any golden bud-type Yunnan black tea which I have found to be very smooth and soothi...

Re: Hojo just posted another round of available teapots!

This is the kobiwako pot I selected. It holds 70 ml which is a good size for Japanese greens for my sensitive stomach. I can drink some every day in small doses.

Re: Hojo just posted another round of available teapots!

Now to decide what teas to add to my order.... If they still have it, and you like oolong, get the deep fermented Li Shan. It was AMAZING. It has a much deeper flavor than typical Li Shan, and it is also bug bitten. It was really tasty. Is this the tea you mean? I have limited experience with Taiwa...

Re: Hojo just posted another round of available teapots!

TAD TAD TAD!!! Just the other day as I sipped a delicious Japanese green tea which I had prepared in my 110 ml Junzo kobiwako pot I thought about how a smaller companion would be an ideal addition to my tea ware collection. I just sent an email to Hojo about a 70 ml pot with an interesting shape. Fi...
