Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Having some Lishan Dongpian, Jason of Teaful Victoria shared with me when we met for tea. I only had something similar once before, a tea which had been named pine tree snow, due to exactly those notes coming through, a walk in a sunlit snowy pineforest and its unique smells. This one is definitely...

Would be nice to have a proper place for the lid in between sessions, since I always leave the lid off to avoid cooking the tea...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?
Those zebra mussels are invasive and predatory and they love clogging up municipal dirty pipes. They have been a big problem in Europe for some time. Austin has its hands full with water.

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Found a jewel in the haystack. After finishing still drinkable open packs of sencha, I’m now going through unopened packs of Japanese greens I unfortunately didn’t refrigerate. This one is very high quality from 11/30/2017, it is excellent. Anyone recognize this one? The light yellow liquor is very ...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Wow. My o-cha ordered just arrived. I immediately cracked open the satsuma. It's excellent. I'm gna try to get through this one and the yatuka midori before I get into the aoi. Oh, I recommend after getting greens in the mail to wait 24-48hrs to let tea acclimatize to room temperature, and then to ...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Definitely pays off to be disciplined, I even do the same with the more oxidised Taiwanese high mountain teas, they last long unopened in the fridge, but once the seal is broken, the best qualities dissolve rather fast... Which oolong are you refrigerating, ...ones like LiShan? I’ve so far only ref...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Sometimes if the tea is particularly fresh or expensive, or at times like now, Chinese New Year with loads of time and little to do :) Mostly I do finish a 150 pack in 2-3 weeks, while drinking other teas at the same time. I buy my teas per jin, so 600g, packed in 4. So the smallest unit I have is ...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Having finished Satsuma, and still not 100% over the flu, I decided to finally finish every open pack of sencha before opening any new ones. A few were pretty old from 2016 to ‘17/early ‘18. Made big unstructured steeps with Jozan III 300ml kyusu, using 11-18gr at a time, mixing Sae/Yutaka Midori/Ch...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
I purchased one of the medium grade sencha from Hibiki-an and have been doing 5-6g with 200ml in a kyusu, but reading the recent posts here it sounds like I should up the leaf to water ratio. Hibiki-an says to go 1 minute 2-3 infusions @80°C / 176°F. A tea friend of mine who only drinks Japanese gr...
