Re: Yixing
@DailyTX you can almost be sure that there are additives in it. Looks like it’s 90s onwards pot. Clay has rarely been pure since the 80s.

Re: Porcelain Gaiwan Comparison
So a bit late, but now I did my own comparisons of porcelain. Jingdezhen vs Dehua porcelain gaiwan, same approximate shape/thickness/volume. Brewed was Winter Duckshit Dancong in a lightly processed version. I am sorry to say that there is a very evident difference in taste between the two. Already ...

Re: Heat porcelain teapot on a candle stove?
Not sure how a candle will give you a slow boil, it will keep tea warm though. This is a recommendation from an experienced drinker for as how to best extract the last bits of premium Yancha. Low heat for a few hours instead of aggressive boiling. I also think it should be fine, yet I know from exp...

Heat porcelain teapot on a candle stove?
Got a (maybe dumb) question: Can you put any porcelain teapot on a stove with a tea candle? Background is that I am looking into slow-boiling tea and do not like most porcelain teapots that are obviously fit to do so, like the ones used in Chinese restaurants. I do not want to use clay, glass, or ot...

FS: 60s F1 Shuiping, 60ml
Turns out that the guy where I got my first 60s had more... same batch from the looks of it, so I picked it up. It is a classic biaozhun shuiping shape F1 from the 60s in hongni clay. Volume: 60ml or 3-cup (Taiwan measurement) Height: about 55 mm Length: (spout>handle) about 90 mm Thin walled and wi...

Re: Yixing
I am not complete sure if the pot was new, since the carving still had a coat of white stuff, I assumed it's not been use, and since I brewed Shu Pu erh, the carving turned to the pot color. It's nice to have someone to talk it out, innovative ideas are formed :) White stuff could be a coat of wax,...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Those sound so delicious Shine Magical. Just a few days ago I opened a 2017 small DaYuLing vacu-pack from HY Chen. It has been a few years since I had any DYL, and I was really pleased that it was still so fresh, with buttery savory effervescent minerality. I’ll order some soon; all these DYL revie...

Re: Yixing
DailyTX that I wouldn’t dare to guess without knowing the tea in particular. Although I never had anything in a tea that I would describe as tingling! Mhh... only with that tea or with others as well? If the pot is mostly new and unused, I think it wouldn’t hurt to let a bit of tea sit in it overni...

Re: Oolong Vendor Topic
I ended up ordering a few things from teafromtaiwan, including the da yu ling sampler. I understand they are a well established vendor so should be consistent. Looking forward to it! You can buy from Taiwan farmer eson tea 95.5k dayuling tea https://www.pinkoi.com/store/esontea https://shopee.tw/es...
