Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

still exhibit flavor and I have to say I was still producing a decent cup of tea at 10 steeps in, which is quite nice. This tea showcases floral notes balanced with spice and mineral notes the bright and refreshing top end enhanced the overall experience making it a candidate for reorder in my book...

Re: kamagami ceramique

I don't use a website. In the section for vendors of teaforum, I have my list of teas for sale. I simply use my name, Ethan Kurland. We should probably switch to email for me to send you information on jade that I have, including a Buddha & some pretty polished pieces & small saucers & cups. Also yo...

Re: kamagami ceramique

I think if porcelain is well fired, at 1300°C, the result is quite good. I have several customers with the same opinion. I tried to compare but I can't drink tea analytically, sometimes it's very good and other times not so much. I think the water quality and infusion settings are the key. It's the...

Re: kamagami ceramique

bienvenue! beautiful ceramics, thank you for sharing +1 Have you compared the 3 clays to learn how they vary in taste for the same tea(s)? Would be interesting to learn how they each effect tea. (I especially like the look of the unglazed porcelain; however, I've read on this forum that unglazed po...

Does anyone believe anyone any more?

I had a long leisurely lunch & visit at the home of some newly made friends yesterday. I brought green tea. One lady asked for honey prompting me to insist that our hosts not get honey for her. I said that I was sure that though the lady had always used honey to counteract bitterness of green tea th...

Re: Old European porcelain

Ethan Kurland veering off topic, but now that you ask, it's a video where a man yoinks a sheep into a car, in reference to a mission in a game, much in this manner: Thanks for the explanation. Drawing was necessary because I never heard or read "yoinks". I have enjoyed cheese & yougurt made of shee...

Re: Old European porcelain

Welcome to the forum sheep.payday2 (that could use explaining).

I like the creamer. One can tire of so much blue & white. I also enjoy using teaware that was not made primarily for serving, as servers. Cheers

Re: Oolongs from different harvests

Weird that in a single pack, both spring and winter are mixed. Seems more common for pu erh but never heard this for oolong I have not come across oolong of more than 1 season being mixed. The ? is, does this mix make the drinker happy? (Lucky enough to get a gift, luckier if it is enjoyable....) C...

Hokusai exhibit at Boston's Museum of Fine Arts

I enjoyed an exhibit of Hokusai today. His work was about 1/3 of what was shown. 1/3 was work of his teachers & influencers & Hokusai's own students & artists that he infuenced noticeably; 1/3 was art of Hokusai's contemporaries to work that is done now that is interesting to compare. Boston's MFA h...

New Spring Teas of 2023 are listed in current list of teas just updated. Last 2 posts of page 7 have the list & a few comments. Suggest you try some now, especially the Lishan Green which is best the first few months after it is produced. Shanlinxi is already gone & no longer listed. Cheers, Ethan

Re: "Neutral" Clays

Kararou mono, It seems to me that you were somewhat focused on a good Zhuni pot as a start. You also asked the ? about whom you could rely on. Though I know little about clays etc., I do have a good understanding of people & this forum. Over the years, teapots obtained from Bok have pleased many for...

Re: Your day in tea

.... I have this pot that I bought back when Tead Off was selling Seong-Il tea ware on Teachat. He called it a gaiwan, which seems weird to me, but by any name it’s the perfect pot for TPHK. The gaiwan looks pretty. Do the little decorative "buttons" help you grip the gaiwan w/o burning your finger...

Re: Your day in tea

Today I had some 2022 Da Yu Ling in my new Chaozhou pot from Ferg. I bought this pot for Dancong, but wanted to try some Gaoshan in it first to see how it would perform. (All of my pots become Gaoshan pots at some point.) Based on only one session, the pot increases the body a bit while m...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking

Drank more of the 2021 Yesheng Hong Cha I had posted about about a month ago... the difference now is that I've been drinking tea regularly for the past few weeks. I find it a lot less appealing, though I don't really fault the tea, I think my tastebuds are just different now. I found it hard to di...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?

I tried the same water with 2023 Shan Lin Xi and the mouthfeel was thick as it should be, so the thin mouthfeel was due to trying a new Taiwanese black tea. Anyway, will keep experimenting Yes, one should ask why what is in the cup is not as good as expected. The answer is not always simple unfortu...
