Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?
I haven’t tried Eska but Evian should have had a thicker mouthfeel (and I wouldn’t expect it to contribute anything else positive). I say, if your Brita works for you then go for it. Maybe re-examine your taste for different waters a year from now. I know my preferences have changed several times o...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?
pase22, I hear you. I switched to a filter after my ol’ trusty brand of bottled water became difficult to find. Fortunately we have a good blend of minerals in our tap and that comes across in the filtered water. It’s definitely better than straight tap, even tap that’s out gassed overnight. Nevert...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?
pase22 I don’t think it is in your head at all. That is to say, I don’t think it is confirmation bias. I’ve experienced radical changes in tea flavor using different waters. Try Acqua Panna sometime in an A/B test. I don’t recommend the water necessarily but for a still water the changes to the tea...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?
A few days ago I stumbled upon an article talking about how water affects the flavor profile of certain teas. At first I shrugged my shoulders in disbelief and remember thinking it was nothing more than a marketing tactic to promote the expensive water filtration system they were raving about. After...

Re: Caffeine reduction in tea
Is it possible to maybe reduce the amount of caffeine in tea by doing pre rinses before brewing. I have a caffeine sensitivity and would be interested if anyone had tried this. It may help a little. There are some reasonably good quality decafs, but generally limited to breakfast blends and OP. Whi...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Yes, I now live on the south shore just across the Jacques Cartier bridge. Reading through the forum, you will notice most members drink loose leaf teas. While in theory any tea can be put in bags, the best teas are not sold in teabag form, typically. The way most members prepare tea is by simply p...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Anyone growing up in Canada (Montreal) in the late 70's & 80's knows that Red rose and Salada were pretty much the only tea options at the grocery store and my parents would typically buy whatever was cheaper. Welcome to the forum! Do you still live in the Montreal area? Yes, I now live on the sout...

Re: Introduce Yourself
welcome, pase22  i'm glad you found something that works for you, but i'm curious about why coffee isn't OK anymore but tea is? i do occasionally enjoy black with milk and a touch of sugar (particularly "builder's" style), but i usually drink tea plain. just infused with plain water. as yo...

Re: Loose tea vs bagged tea and where bagged teas may go wrong
If you're carrying your tea in a tin, it doesn't take much time to scoop a teaspoon of tea into a strainer AKA: infuser. You have to wait for the water to come up to temperature anyway.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Six weeks ago when I found out I had type 2 diabetes and it was bad. As a result radical changes had to be made to my food & beverage consumption habits. Coffee was the first casualty and yes, I cried because Growing up in an Italian family wine and coffee are a basic food group. Anyone growing up i...
