Re: Help with long dan shaped teapot
LeoFox best if you do a side by side comparison with the two pots to see the difference more clearly. You are right. In between using my usual pot and the longdan pot, i had a medium fired dong ding. That may have killed my palate, though there was an interval of several hours in between. I will tr...

Re: Help with long dan shaped teapot
Many factors could be at play... maybe the pot is just too thick walled, overstepping your leaves. Your tea might simply be not of good enough quality and the porcelain emphasises it’s short comings. I recently purchased an 85 mL long dan shaped porcelain teapot, resembling this one: https://i.imgur.com/N6f6sZU.jpg This was motivated by an old post from teamaster: http://teamasters.blogspot.com/2012/04/yixing-modern-zhuni-long-dan-teapot.html?m=1 Furthermore, I was told this type of pot allows b...

I ordered most or all of teavivre's Keemun's a few years ago. Most were so-so, one or two were pretty good,...

Re: Introduce Yourself
How long have you been drinking tea? All my life. My dad is northern Chinese, and so he introduced chinese greens to me early on. My mom is southern Chinese, and she did the same but with yunnan red tea. However, I have mostly been drinking tea casually until this year. With covid lockdown forcing ...

Re: The Porcelain Thread
I want to learn more about the different grades of porcelain. I understand that the basic break down is between hard paste, soft paste and bone china. In terms of non-bone china, there appears to be a continuum between hard paste and soft paste, depending on the type of white rock used, the amount a...
