Re: Tea farm in Portugal

Wow, very interesting what this couple are doing, out on a limb sort of. The tea plants propagated from seed look super healthy, and smart idea to consult with the Morimotos. So do you think they plan to steam their leaves as in Japanese sencha? I tasted a bit of green tea they made and it was stea...

Tea farm in Portugal

I got to visit a tea farm here in Portugal last month, it's located close to Porto, they are aiming to make Japanese style tea. Part of the plantation is in rows like this using the field that used to be a vineyard with fruit trees on each side (mostly apples and pears), you can see the difference b...

I always take a portable teapot in a padded case and this time I took a set of three Chaozhou cups. Carry a little pu in a pouch and buy water and you're set!
How was your trip? From the news Barcelona looked hectic with all the separatist protests

Re: If you don’t have teaware…

Lately I've been granpastyling more and more when not at home, I've used similar setups for gong fu outside or in non tea enthusiast's houses but not having much success due to the water, the stronger brew grandpa provides seems to be more forgiving of water quality. Maybe I should just edc a cake, ...

Re: Drinking Cups & Bowls: Size and Material ?

I like using a drinking vessel a slightly bigger than the brewing vessel so I can have one brew in the cup and one cooling in the chahai, my usual cup is a short wide one because I drink mostly puer and it cools faster, it has about 80ml useful volume 110ml filed to the top [media]https://www.instag...

Re: What White Are You Drinking

Those leaves look big and so thick that they can handle boiling water. Tea plantations in the Azores, yet another reason for me to want to visit. I designed a house in Barcelona with the client requesting inspiration from Azores dwellings built into volcanic hillsides, all curves, no corners. What ...

Today I had some 2017 Azores white, the flavour reminds me of green grapes, its pretty sturdy I use boiling water and don't feel there is any bitterness there to extract and at high temps the body feels fuller.

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?

This is an interesting topic, right now, after a few iterations I've reached some balance, I use a plastic storage box with some soaked terracotta for added humidity, they're soaked with boiling water so they remain relatively sterile. I've tried some crocks and other systems before but the clear pl...

One thing I noticed is when I click the a post in the 'new posts' section I'm directed to page one even if there are multiple pages, shouldn't it redirect me to the latest post?

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Today I drank a 2006 Fuhai 7536, got it as a free sample from my latest order, last time I tried it the water wasn't the best so this was like the first real tasting. Tight compression. The heated dry leaf smelled like roasted apples and clove, really nice and autumnal. The first infusions after it ...

Hmm, when I click on gatmcm image hosted at Imgur, and select ‘open in imagur’ it goes to various places at different times; the posted image, my own Imgur images or to a general Imgur area. It seems to be a glitch. Anyone else’s notice this? https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=18 Also, i...

- Size of pot: 60ml - Clay type: Hei ni - ~6s pour - 80's - Use it mainly for semi aged puer, have some white tea I find it pairs well with from time to time but don't drink it often enough to dedicate a pot to it - What is the effect of the pot on tea? Mostly mutes high notes, I find it smooths out...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Drinking some 2006 De He Xing I recently got from adventureineverycup, I feel only now it has settled from the air travel and re-humidified nicely.
Nice aged taste with some strong bitterness, just how I like it :D
