Re: Always boil water?

Fully boiling helps to precipitate the dissolved bicarbonates into insoluble carbonates (they "fall out" of the solution), reducing the hardness of water. See "temporary hardness" section here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_water This is also why pre-boil TDS numbers do not always tell the s...

Re: What's the best tea for a sensitive stomach?

I do sometimes find tea giving me acid reflux specifically from young sheng. It generally happens in the afternoon if i drink young sheng soon after i eat. I find that most of my black tea tends to be slightly more tannic and brisk so that generally doesn't help either. Darker oolongs seem to be bet...

When are you going to start your own quiz to archetype us?
I think that would probably be a bit intrusive... haha

One can guess a lot of it by reading between the lines of the postings.
I meant one of those quiz things that you take and it tells you which you are.

Re: Mountain Stream Teas ?

Relevant post https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=852. I almost bought this last year on a whim but the reviews on the website seem very odd for any puerh I've had. Taste is of course somewhat personal opinion, but I'm wondering if this is actually the terroir or processing(over processed?...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Drinking some Medium Roast ShuiXian from Oldwaystea. Definitely prefer this to the regular ShuiXian. I wish I would have also ordered/tried the Light Roast, but oh well. Most ShuiXians I really don't enjoy as I think they are overroasted, but I'm liking this a lot. I'm getting a lot more nuanced tea...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Drinking some lovely Gold Medal RouGui from Old Ways Tea. This stuff has some xtra sauce on it. Very very good. I'm taking too long between sips from all this complexity that i'm tasting after. I see Old Ways Tea has several RouGui selections. Have you tried any other of their RouGui selections? Do...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Starting off the day with 2017 In Bloom from BLT. picked up some aroma and flavor from last time. I probably should have changed my boveda pack earlier. surprised(shouldn't be) at the markup on this though. I just looked up what they are going for now.

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Drinking some YQH Dingji today. It was quite dense as my teapot wasn't really filled with the 7-7.5 grams. I decided to just do 10 grams in my 100ml. I am enjoying it quite a lot and am entering another plane of existence.
