Re: Yixing

Two questions in mind: 1. Was the crack / chip mentioned in the description at ZAG webpage? 2. Can you put up a close up photo of the crack? Cheers!! Nope, they described it as "perfect". Here's the page: http://zishaartgallery.com/product/%e7%b4%ab%e7%a0%82%e6%b0%b4%e5%b9%b3%e5%a3%b6-za0065/ I'll ...

Re: Yixing

So I ordered a pot from Zisha Art Gallery. In this picture you can see a chip in the handle, which I assumed was the extent of the damage. http://zishaartgallery.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_7165.jpg However, it just arrived, and that chip is actually a crack that runs all the way through the ...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Wuyi Origin's dan congs are honestly more enjoyable than their yanchas in my experience. I think that might have to do with how Yancha is priced compared to Dancong. At the same price Dancong will mostly be better than Yancha... so if you were to compare the two based on quality you’d need to get a...

I have this pot. I like it.
what type of tea do you use it for? It looks like it might be a nice shape/size for yancha.

Re: Yixing

If you get an F1, make sure to get one from before 1980. And on a side not F1s usually aren't considered antiques. Usually when people refer to antiques, they mean teapots made before the Factory Era, so ROC or earlier. Oh ok, I didn't mean to imply that I wanted to get an ROC or Qing pot or anythi...

Re: Yixing

Thanks for all the recommendations, I'll definitely keep them in mind as I shop around. I do eventually want to get an antique F1 or two but I think I might wait until Emmett gets some more pots in stock since he seems to be pretty highly regarded around here and his pots seems like pretty great val...

Re: Yixing

I mostly drink oolongs (mostly roasted, yancha, dong ding, dan cong), sheng, and hong cha. I'm looking for get pots for all of those teas eventually, so I wasn't trying to buy a pot for one of them in particular. My plan was just to try them all in whatever pot i get and see what fits best. I'm not ...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello, nice to meet you all, been lurking for a while now but want to start posting.

I mostly drink oolong tea (especially roasted oolongs), sheng, hong cha, and sometimes white tea.

I'm interested in delving more into yixing teaware and just the world of tea in general.
