Re: Norbu is closing its online store
I will second debunix comments. I would buy any of Greg's teas untasted, such is the confidence I have in his palate and descriptive powers. Having said that, I appreciated the many samples shared generously, including those from his personal collection. I loved the small but diverse selections on t...

Re: Mei leaf
t-curious - I understanding what you are trying to say. It appears that the original poster still wants to try Mei Leaf's teas, despite the feedback given here..probably for the reasons that you stated. I was lucky to enter my tea journey in great company (Norbu) but I can imagine what the OP is goi...

Re: Ripe-Raw blended cakes
mrmopu - Thanks for the suggestion. I tend to stick with 'tried and true' vendors (EOT, Yunnan Sourcing, Norbu) for tea in general. Being new to pu erh, I have only one 'tution' cake (from a questionable vendor). and the too-low-price was the first red flag.

debuinx - Thank you so much for sharing all of those photos..you really capture the beautiful glazes and feel of Shawn's pieces. I love the layout too...like immersing oneself in a sea of beautiful glazes. I love seeing the variety of styles and glazes ezpecially as I am new to Shawn's work, and rig...

Re: Greatwheel//Greenwoodstudio
I really love his work. We always have 1 of his 'fair cups' in our rotation! I would love to see pictures of the 'fair cups' and any other pieces by Shawn. I will try and get some pictures pf my cups and jar during my next tea session. I just discovered Shawn's work..this was my first order. I was ...

Re: Ripe-Raw blended cakes
That sounds aweful Shine Magical. I have been very lucky. All the raw-ripe blends I have seen have been honestly represented as such.
Can't imagine how it would feel to think you are getting an aged sheng...only to discover it is a newer raw-ripe. Any vsuggestions on how to avoid that scenario?

Re: Greatwheel//Greenwoodstudio
I just received my order. I did get a notification that my order was going to be a little late. As consolation, Shawn kindly added a lovely cup to my order..even though the order really was not late at all. Talk about great customer service...and stunning work.

Started out savory butternut squash pumpkin seed soft char note bamboo yeast pepper plus a hint of someother spice maybe tarragon. Second steep ha...

Re: Recommendations for a newb
@Dresden - Hope you report back as you drink your way through your order from YS. I lucked out in that my first introduction to pu erh was through a sample of Essence of Tea's 2000 Green Peacock raw pu erh, which was kindly sent to me by tingjunkie along with a purchased teapot. What delightful int...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
@Victoria - Thanks for the clarification :) I didn't mean to come across as doubting. Rather I was confused about the photo of the dark brew on Global Tea Hut's site..and wondered if that was the same Blue Mark that you mentioned. I love PuerhJunky's website.....I will have to try some of his sheng...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
@Victoria - I got the impression that the Blue Mark from Global Tea Hut was shu...based on the color of the cake and the brew in the photos only - I have not yet had this tea. Also the lack of reference to sheng made me think it was shu. Now reading your notes, I am wondering if I am wrong....
