Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Drinking a sample of YS 2016 Autumn Na Han. Fairly strong for an autumn harvest. Good bitterness, sweet and savory, slight citrus note.

Super sweet, syrupy thick and delicious with a little smoke that makes this an amazing young Sheng Pu’er Cha. 2017 Little Ducks from white2tea.
Wow, surprisingly dark liquer for a 2017 sheng

Re: Puerh vendor topic

Anyone have experience with puerhshop.com? Edit: I'm looking through the site and the prices are suspiciously low. They got in trouble a while back for selling fake aged factory teas. There prices generally are very low though and they have some decent teas as long as you don't go in with your expe...

Re: Yunan S

From my experience YS's yancha are good daily drinkers and well priced, but definitely not high end, "top shelf" type stuff. I really liked the Traditional Roast Shui Xian, and I've heard some people say that the 5 Year Aged DHP is an extra good deal, though I haven't tried it yet myself.

https://i.imgur.com/mSW1BGU.jpg - Size of pot in ml or oz.: 160mL - Clay type: Qing Hui Ni, supposedly stored since the 80's - Firing temperature: I am not a yixing expert, but based on the porosity compared to my other pots I would guess low-medium - If the pot is thin-walled, medium, or thick-wal...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Drinking 2017 White2Tea IPA; good, but not what I was expecting. It's a fairly mild, musky, refined sort of young sheng with a floral aroma. I was hoping for punchy, bitter, and hop-like.

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Drinking 2017 Hai Lang Hao "Lao Ban Zhang" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Brick. It's soooooooo bitter! It's more bitter than the 2016 Hai Lang Hao "Lao Ban Zhang Gu Shu" Ancient Arbor Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake I sampled from Yunnan Sourcing, I figured they would be of similarly sourced material. It's a bit strong for ...

Re: Your favorite Dan Cong vendor?

- snip - You could try Wuyi Origin. Cindy sells direct; both Wuyi and Dancong. The DC comes from her husband's family farm. I currently am drinking the lao cong mi lan xiang (just reviewed by teaformeaplease.com ) and it is first rate. Site is wuyiorigin.com . Cindy (who speaks and writes English) ...

Re: Caveat emptor....

So maybe I'm a bit blind, but I'm not seeing whats wrong with it? A 15% refund is unacceptable though What catches my attention is that the bottom right of the pot got squished while it was still wet, so it is not round and is a little flat there. Ah, now I see it. It wouldn't bother me much, but I...

Re: Your favorite Dan Cong vendor?

Everything the Japanese do, they normally try to do their best at. And the expectations to quality are very high, I think they simply would not get away with selling average quality in Japan. As the import tariffs are also very high it probably does not make much sense to acquire lower grades. Same...

Drinking some heavier roast Rou Gui from lazy cat tea. It is waking me up very nicely and tastes great.
Do you think they're teas are worth the price? I've considered ordering their tasting box.

Re: Yixing

Opinions on thes shui pings from Chawangshop? I have one. I'm no expert on where it stands relative to other pots, but it's brilliant for my ~10yo shengs - it turns a couple of them into sugar-bombs and often mutes smoke/harshness, while bringing out some fresher/high flavours that don't present in...
