Re: Gaiwan
Hi Everyone, I have been looking into a better Gaiwan recently. I have a 100 ml thin wall Gaiwan that I purchased at a local Chinese Tea Shop. I am looking for 150-200 ml medium to thick wall Gaiwan to hold the heat for ripe Puerh. Anyone has recommendation on an online store I can explore? Thanks!

Re: My Puerh Order (all samples)
I’ve only had 2 puerhs. One loose ripe and one raw pearl. The ripe was extremely refreshing like fresh mineral rich soil. The raw was like a puddle near a sewer drain...with a small carcass floating in it. I loved the ripe immediately and the raw quickly grew on me after the 2nd session...rotting c...

Re: Yixing
I wonder if you have any idea on what might cause the spicy note/tingling reaction? If you’re used to puerh then I am sure you could tell if the sensation was from camphor, since it is so common. If it’s not camphor then I have an alternative theory. If someone used the pot for herbal medicine it’s...

Re: Yixing
I am not complete sure if the pot was new, since the carving still had a coat of white stuff, I assumed it's not been use, and since I brewed Shu Pu erh, the carving turned to the pot color. It's nice to have someone to talk it out, innovative ideas are formed :) White stuff could be a coat of wax,...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
I had a little extra time tonight to brew a pot of Bing Dao Sheng Pu Erh. It's an affordable daily drinking Sheng Pu Erh, semi-aged, has no date on the cake but the teashop owner said it's 4-5 years old. The tea has a dried fruit smell, the brew color is about the same color as the CNNP 8891 from Yu...

Re: Yixing
DailyTX that I wouldn’t dare to guess without knowing the tea in particular. Although I never had anything in a tea that I would describe as tingling! Mhh... only with that tea or with others as well? If the pot is mostly new and unused, I think it wouldn’t hurt to let a bit of tea sit in it overni...

Re: Yixing
Hi All, Here is a mystery pot I have been working on - Size of pot in ml or oz. about 160 ml - Clay type (zhu ni, hong ni, zi ni, duan ni, ...) Zini most likely. The pot has speckle of yellow near handle and sprout and inconsistent throughout the body of the pot, so it could be a feature of di cao q...
