Re: What Green Are You Drinking
I rarely use my tetsubin and decided I would today. Was planning on brewing up some Vietnamese high mountain assamica green in a Purion pot I got from CWarren. Well, I reached for the wrong bag and ended up with high mountain assamica hojicha! I roasted the tea myself a year or two ago and had forgo...

Good gaoshan oolong will give you more infusions than you likely want to drink!

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
I didn't buy it directly from XG so I can't be 100% sure it's real but I think unlikely to be fake. It looks and taste exactly like other legit XG I've had and it's clearly aged. It's a decent semi aged daily drinker as is but I'm sure it'll improve some once it settles from its recent travel. If i...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
05 FT T8653. It's got the typical XG smokey pine barnyard profile I like. Dies off pretty quickly so I'm not sure this one has long term potential. Decent for drinking now but it's a wee bit overpriced at $80 so prob not anything I'd buy in quantity. Mxtea sells the 06 non iron version for a lot le...

Re: Are there any modern Zhuni pots?
Thanks, I'll take a look at some of Xu Yuefung's stuff! How does the new XMY/ZZ stuff compare to lao zhuni for brewing in? Good idea :) the new stuff (the good one) does pretty well. Not the same as lao zhuni, but I got excellent results. I still use my thin walled Xu Yuefeng zhuni for gaoshan fair...

Entirely normal. I wouldn't be at all bothered by it!

Also as an addendum I think the 'B' addition in Malaysia means the cakes are fakes!

Re: Vendor review: Tealife HK
Also as for the similarities between Dongding and the high fire TGY--both were produced by Fujianese immigrants who migrated out of Fujian because of the CR, so there are definitely commonalities. I feel like tea culture in Taiwan evolved in a different direction because of RoC and because there was...

Crimson Lotus Planet Bangdong. So darn good! Both the Kunlu and Bangdong have indescribable flavors I have never found in anything else and are pleasant to drink and clean. I'm going to buy their sheng sampler as their young sheng is

Re: Vendor review: Tealife HK
Great reviews Bok, thanks! With the HK TGY, the smaller leaves mean we use 50% leaf in the pots to get to 100% fill, vs 20-30% with Taiwanese oolongs. Next time I see you I'll brew you some up my way! :D 16g/100ml! I thought the bit about the dreams after the Three Stamp was very interesting. I can'...

Re: Are there any modern Zhuni pots?
I would've thought it would go for a lot more than $300! Depends on the level and reputation nof the maker as well. $300 can happen but it is difficult, usually $500-600+ even on the Chinese market :) And there's mostly the xiaomeiyao zhuni around now, the ZZ was easier to find ~5-8 years ago, now ...

Re: Are there any modern Zhuni pots?
Right, as steanze said, there IS still zhuni being mined, but it's different because of modern technology and it isn't cheap either. I would've thought it would go for a lot more than $300!
