Playing with Dr Frankenstein's biandeng tonight (after feeding its younger sibling earlier today).

Warmed it up very carefully...

Re: Does anyone buy tea during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales around here?

aet : I agree with your criticisms of this concept. Presumably, vendors who start doing these sales will soon find their income drying up in the few months prior to the next expected sale... Discounts based on large orders or long-term relationships seem like a more sensible option to reward custom...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking

This tea sounds like my jam (pun intended :))! Maybe it was the fact that it was made from Qi Zhong that reminded me of lapsang. EoT has gone to the top of my Black Friday impulse buy list. Can you recommend any similar teas? I'm always looking for things with profiles like this. I'm not sure if I ...

Continuing the discussion from over here (https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2685) with GaoShan ; trying EoT's 2020 WuDi hongcha from WuYi on an overcast and humid day. According to their website, "It’s from the wild growing Qi Zhong varietal and the producer explained to us that he wante...

Re: Does anyone buy tea during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales around here?

GaoShan : ha, finally found it! So I wasn't going insane after all... (or at least, this isn't proof that I was) I'll give it a try today and report back, though I'm not too good at 'tasting notes', and my preferences for hongcha are usually more on the fruity and elegant side than the chocolate-y ...

Andrew S, have you tried the hongcha from EoT? Might be my small purchase this year.
No, unfortunately; I thought that I had some packets lying around of that WuYi hongcha that they've got, but I just opened the box and discovered a rougui yancha that I have no memory of ever ordering...

Re: Does anyone buy tea during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales around here?

I like these vendors and focused on teas I already know are good. That sounds like a good way to approach it. I think that the real value doesn't lie in chasing sales across the internet, but rather just checking to see if the people you'd order from anyway might be offering something. The whole 'b...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Still amazes how the light in your place brings out a certain soft quality to these pots (especially for pots I know well ; ) ) Just a trick of the light (and in this case, the magic of the morning light). Your pot does seem to like this tea, so it'll probably poke its head out for more photos in t...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Early morning fully-roasted shiru, before the day gets too hot. I tried it with a heavy hand before, but it really needs a lighter touch than I thought ('lighter touch' is relative - it's still 8g in 60mL). I think it would have been wasted on me if I had just tried a single sample instead of a full...

Re: Western facing F1 vendors list

Hi, I’ve read quite a bit on this forum and I know ZAG is recommended but the site is not secure. Does anyone know if it has always been that way? I have been hunting for a new pot and ZAG definitely has the most comprehensive collection I have seen (on sites I can navigate) but being non-secure ha...

Can try to contact Zoeyfortea via Instagram. I'm not currently on Instagram. Do they have a website or email address? I am not aware of any. Probably WeChat. No website thus far. Is this the same Zoe? https://www.instagram.com/zoeys_tea/ http://zoeystea.com/ https://www.facebook.com/zoey.lee.129/?s...

Re: A teapot escapes the museum...

Now I'm going to have nightmares that my teapots are conscious and are being held by me against their will... But I suppose that that's the point - a light-hearted way to think about some important issues.

So long as there isn't a film where someone tries to liberate my pots by force...

Re: Your day in tea

I can't remember if you were the one who had Ethan ship his teas to Australia, but if not, that might be a good option. I've ordered from Ethan before, and will do so again soon in preparation for Summer. The cost of shipping to Australia is not low, but his teas are nice and well-priced, I think. ...
