Re: What Green Are You Drinking

I love citrus in herbal tea blends, and I like citrus flower scented tea, but when I think of citrus flavoring C sinensis tea, Earl Gray comes to mind and I cringe. I don't know enough about Yuzu to really have a good sense of whether that would be a good thing compared to some other citrus possibil...

2009 Lao Cha Tou
where from?

I still have a little bit left of bricks of compressed Lucha two from 2009 from Norbu, and I believe Yunnan sourcing had some packaged under their own label that might've been from the same or very similar source.

Re: Electric Kettles

I recently bought a Stagg without a gooseneck spout for work. I had a combination that had been working reliably for a very long time, I think it was a Bonavita base and a Gourmia kettle body, and apart from occasional descaling, everything was OK except...no hold mode. As soon as it gets up to temp...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Finished celebrating the New Year in Tea with a session of Orchid Dew green tea from MaunaKea tea, a special occasion treat that was reliably lovely as always--delicately floral, a little vegetal, and a little leaf goes a long way.

IMG_6523.jpeg starting the new year off with a very specialty from Morning Crane via TeaBuy Korea: Nok Goryeo Dancha from Sin Mog. This is an amazing tea that comes compressed in a tuo-shaped ball composed if delicate small leaves that cannot be pried apart without breaking a lot of them--I imagine...

Re: Your day in tea

Today started with some Kabuse sencha from O-Cha, fresh vegetables with a little sweet floral note; then a bit of Shan Lin Xi winter oolong from Floating Leaves, rich and delicate light roast tea; and finished with a long session with Forest Genie puerh from Hatvala, a lovely puerh-style loose tea t...

It is a subtle piece that I bet shines in person where you can move it in the light as you're working with it and drinking from it, and I bet it seems very lively that way.

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

That's a striking shibo. The deliberate pinholes look like they lend it an interesting texture as well as being beautiful. it is a favorite that feels good in the hand with a mix of coarse clay, slick shino, matte and shiny textures, curves and straight lines and sharp angles, and it makes a fine c...
