Re: Tea Seed/Seedling Vendor Topic

I don't know from other tea trees but last time I've tried to send seeds to a client , it didn't work well. I've got seeds from Bulang mountain in one village from their Cha Wang ( they actually let me go over the fence and pick up the fruits from the tree ) . The seed is inside of the hard hard she...

Re: Cakes ID

just a small addition. I've looked up again and this purple cake..it is actually Zi Ya , not Zi Juan , I made a mistake. sorry. What I like about Zi Ya is that it tastes "aged" even 6 months after harvest. That's the also the reason why it is easy used for false age claims , let alone the color of t...

Re: Cakes ID

I have this one example on my mind and wondering if it's possible to buy one single cake from TB for a similar price with the extra fees ( plus potential custom fees ) . I know that this question wasn't for me, but feel like to react ;-)..if u don't mind Just imagine an extreme situation : the was ...

Re: Cakes ID

thats a while ago I saw some of those examples hanging on TB. I just remember the supplier showed me the other day , selling it for 170 CNY but in different wrapper I got.
Next time I come across with same situation , I’ll share the link.

Re: Cakes ID

I probably interpreted it wrong way. So if I compare TB and small private producer selling on their own online platform ( also accessible to foreign buyers ) their tea...the TB is more expensive in matter of quality : price. I don't know if this explanation is more understandable. The 357g pressed t...

Re: Cakes ID

I probably steered the topic off the course, but just one thing would like to add. Many times happened to me that tea brand would offer me a cake / brick for re-sell with words ...check TB , we sell it there for 3x higher price, so you have a space for some $$. Which means that TB is not the cheap p...

Re: Cakes ID

If I was going to play the pu-lottery on any of the Alibaba Group platforms, I'd pick Taobao/Tmall over Aliexpress in a heartbeat (even more so for factory stuff!). The mentioned JD.com is another option. With agent fees and shipping much more reasonable than before I have a hard time understanding...

Re: White Tea Expiration?

different environment requires different conditions for storage in order to preserve tea leaf either dry out or get moldy ( or very wet taste ) . In any case , the enzyme activity is still on , even if environment is not hot or humid like in Fujian ( unless you put it in freezer or something ) In fa...

I'm just googling it and can not find any website where to register and obtain the IOSS identification number. There is no any info on internet leading to some particular website of any country where can register.

UK tea drinkers

I'm just wondering how new import tax enforcement has influenced your buying experience? Do you have a big problems at customs if the vendor has no tax registered number on parcel ( means the import tax hasn't been sent upfront from vendor ) ? I've tried to register on their website ( tax office Uk ...

Re: Can taste change within weeks

you taste perception is changing on many factors , and yes , the drinking experience is one of them along with body and mind estate at the moment you drink your cup. The actual taste of tea also changes based on storage ( time & conditions ) and not only applied to puerh. Many Kunming vendors proudl...

Re: Some of my teas acquire a sour soybean taste and smell

I also only add my guess on that. If your tea came from higher humidity place like GZ , SH, HK or even Fujian , there is a fairly amount of moisture in leaf which needs to be maintained in ventilated condition. If you keep sealed , high possibility of “fast fermenting” process which is sort of compo...

Re: What teas are easy on the stomach

I'm not a doctor neither scientist but just from personal experience , as I also have sometimes issues with to acid stomach ( especially after spring harvest ) , light infusions of shu puerh ( like red color, not black ) or Liu Bao. Basically I stay away form anything "green" like stuff. Sometimes i...

Re: Blends vs. Single Origin

I can only add to that from puerh business point of view. Big tea factories mostly ( that's my personal observation ) blend tea from economical point of view. Companies like Dayi for their 1234 whatever recipes shu puerh, they would use some very cheap summer bush tea from Yunxian ( Lincang ) as a b...

... I don't remember now if XG or Zhong Cha, but I think it's a XG - from this year has a rule for retail prices. If you are agent and sell for less than recommended price, you would get penalized. If you sell it to someone who re-sell it for less than rec.retail price, you also might get in troubl...
