Re: Yixing

Teafortea I’d recommend getting a basic hongni shuiping as an all around 1st pot. Such as this 120ml one from EOT. Good all around size. https://essenceoftea.com/collections/yixing-teapots/products/120ml-fang-xia-hongni-shui-ping-yixing-teapot Or if you want a smaller 60ml pot than I’d recommend on...

Re: Yixing

I just got this ROC pot which came as a set. Elegant lines and beautiful clay. It looks to be around 70ml so probably ideal for higher end yancha. ./download/file.php?id=11685&sid=d7daa129fa93a05c55541932ea801ead ./download/file.php?id=11684&sid=d7daa129fa93a05c55541932ea801ead That looks as good a...

Re: Yixing

Chadrinkincat: do we get to see any photos of the base, if you don't mind my asking? I always want to absorb more knowledge about pre-factory pots... Andrew Here’s a few more. It has typical rough interior finishing and a 6c seal. No lid or handle seals. Also turns out this one is 80ml and weights ...

Re: How does it look ? ( CNNP/Xiaguan from 2001-2? )

Assuming this ain't a tiepai and we can trust the wrapper... ... these two pages have some (Google Translate friendly) info about this tea: https://bababu24.pixnet.net/blog/post/210323675 http://taishunhe.com/01xghytbzcp.htm The second link is a vendor, selling the tea for around USD 400 a cake. Do...

Re: Yixing

Got a new/old teapot - made by Gu Jingzhou regarding the bottom seal? Guess it's a fake, but who knows? Would be glad if some experts can tell me more about it. Thank you! At least from the seals it looks similar like this one: http://www.chengxuan.com/antiques/99546/ Maybe helotea is intersted in ...

Re: Yixing

Bok Yeah I have a tendency to not give myself enough credit. I think I’ll feel more confident once I’ve doubled the size of my pre-factory collection. Fortunately, I’m less than a dozen purchases away from meeting this goal. 😂 That pot is beautiful! It is sized just right for heavily roasted yancha...

Re: Yixing

found out it was a $560 replica. Sad reality is that most will never find out though… or prefer not to look to closely. Some people probably genuinely don’t actually care about if a pot is genuine but for others it is likely about not wanting to feel foolish for buying a fake. My pockets aren’t ver...

Re: Yixing

DailyTX Both pots looked legit to me but I had enough doubts about both that going beyond min bid was too much risk for me. I’d be pretty pissed if I won that other pot and found out it was a $560 replica. On inspection, I think mine is authentic so I’m glad I actually bid rather than watch it go u...

Re: Yixing

@steanze

It is definitely a bit lighter than my other ROC zini pots. The size and filter type definitely makes this one a bit of a slow pour 20-24s. I might use it as a mini grandpa pot.

Re: Yixing

Chadrinkincat I am glad you got the pot, I was contemplating on bidding it. I had my eyes on the cannon spout shui ping pot by the same seller but got out bidded haha. Congratulations! Thanks! I was eyeing that pot too but I wasn’t willing to bid much due to the no return policy. Hopefully someone ...

Re: Yixing

I finally got a NZWH pot with similar shape + era (unless I’m mistaken). I think I prefer the look of the one you posted. https://www.instagram.com/p/CZf9wviLMjg/?utm_medium=copy_link Very nice! It's a very practical shape. What's the zini inside like? I usually find that in these ROC neiziwaihong ...
