Re: Drinking for one
Slurp Thanks for the recommendation. I'm just learning about the kettle that can maintain the water temperature. That would be perfect. One of my gripes with drinking from smaller cups is having to boil up water in between each brew. It's not like I'm lazy or anything, but when I sit down to relax ...

Drinking for one
I recently bought a 360ml kyusu pot in order to get away from using the tea bags for my loose-leaf green tea that I learned is made with polypropylene plastic. It's not just that, I also wanted to experience a more traditional way to drink my green tea. I'm also considering buying a gaiwan and tryin...

Re: Organic, conventional, fertilized, and pesticide-free
Janice Thank you very much. wave_code You do have some interesting points. In fact, there is an organic farm (although not certified) in upstate, NY (about an hour or more from where I live), and lucky for me the farm comes down to our area (about 20 minutes from where I live) every Sunday to one o...

Re: Organic, conventional, fertilized, and pesticide-free
I think that is very sound advice. I don't feel too strongly about drinking only organic tea, and as you suggested, limiting myself to only farmers who have become certified. If the quality of the tea is good, and I'm purchasing from a reputable supplier, I would not be concerned about drinking conv...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Right now all I have is organic sencha superior from Hibiki-An, and organic sencha from Yama moto yama. I have a few bags of tea on its way from Ocha and Co. and O-cha.com. I'm in the experimental stage, trying to find the right amount of leaves and brew times for each tea. The gram scale I ordered ...

Organic, conventional, fertilized, and pesticide-free
I know this topic has been touched upon already. I'm not looking to rehash a hot topic. I'm just curious how you all feel about organic, conventional, fertilized, and pesticide-free farming, and what you use personally. One over the other, or a combination of all of the above. I transitioned to most...

Re: Introduce Yourself
It's truly an art form, debunix . The nice thing about our "modern" society is the ability to connect with other like-minded folks globally. This just would not have been possible twenty-five years ago. I feel like a neophyte, although I've been drinking green tea for much of my life. All of this be...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello everyone, I recently started searching for information on brewing green tea and found Teachat, which had some good information, but didn't seem to be that active any longer. Then I stumbled upon TeaForum.org. I'm here because I love tea, namely green tea. I have been drinking green tea since I...
