Re: Random pics of piled tea

You mentioned your oolongs. If you don't mind my asking, what was your strategy for buying oolong for long-term storage? Of course i don't mind :) . Didn't find as much info about aging & selecting oolongs like there is about puerh although there's enough ... to reach the same crossroads you tend t...

Re: Random pics of piled tea

@ Maerskian glad to hear those recommendations were close to the target for you. I don't know if I recommended the 2018 XG Fei Tai Da Yun or not. That is another I think people should consider as well.

Re: Cakes pressed with visual motives on it

Menghai does the Hong Yun 100 grammers with the Menghai symbol pressed in. XiaGuan also does cakes with a logo in the beenghole on the back of the cake.

Rainy, they have my trust and I saw they got back to you on here. They sell some damn fine puerh from their shop. I bet you will like what you ordered.

Taiwan storage is usually done well if maintained properly. I have a lot of stuff stored there that taste really fine to me. Not as wet as the mainland can be.

Could be a possibility. Although Natural Bridge is awful pretty this time of year.
Brings back memories thinking of Natural Bridge, Va. What a great place.
Yeah we haven't tripped there this year due to the virus. Maybe next Summer if all goes well.

Re: Getting back in the game

I have some good Taiwan stored stuff I just got in. A bunch is actually still fairly affordable for the age on it. A couple HK Henrys , some Changtai Bamboo Forest, T8653 and some custom 8582's HK style. Maybe we can meet half-way some day between DC and Blacksburg - maybe somewhere in Staunton? :D...

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?

Thought I would give a brief update as I had moved the pumidor a couple months ago. I should note first that I added one boveda pack. RH now around 65-66, up from lower 60's, and when I open the door to take tea out, put it back in within a 1/2 hour it's not dropping as quick as when I did this whe...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

@mrmopu I had one go with it, but I wasn't super impressed - wasn't the worst out of the bunch but wasn't my favorite either. I have enough to do a second round with it, so maybe the second time might reveal a little more about it Ever hear of the 2003 Bamboo Spring from them? Hobbes reviewed it a ...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Going through a dozen samples of Changtai from KTM - most were duds but I'm really like the 2006 Chang Tai Hao Menghai Qiao Bing - Ji. The Bu Lang taste is very apparent, the tea liquor is thick and complex, and the cha qi is going straight to my head. I'm thinking of buying a few cakes of this - h...

I think their HeKai was pretty good to if I recall. If you like HeKai have you had a chance to try W2T's Repave? It is one I like. It can be hit or miss with people but I am one of the hits with it.
