Re: Teaware You Think We Need:
A tea tray is essential... Messing about with saucers and stuff, good for YouTube... Light wood stained by tea, no worries, that's called seasoning... But but but.. it activates the ocd I don't have :D Its just my need for things to look correctly. StoneLadle What is your favorite piece of teaware?

Terre de Ciel (TDC)
TDC: https://www.the-puerh.com/en/index.html Recently I made a purchase of some samples from them so I can learn more about the various regions that produce puerh. I've heard good things about this vendor from others and various blogs. I've seen their name mentioned on the puerh section. Any thoughts?

Re: Teaware You Think We Need:
I don't think I've ever seen that before. My tea tray came with one of those tubes and I don't even like my tea tray. I'm going to get one with a large basin underneath, also the wood gets stained by tea if the color isn't dark enough.

Teaware You Think We Need:
I think a tea utensil set is a basic necessity, especially if you have guests so you don't handle their teaware with your hands. Most come with tweezers, tea scooper, something to clean the leaves away from your yixing teapot spout, etc. A tea scoop and spoon which is very helpful to put tea leaves ...

Re: What is your favorite region/subregion for puerh and why?
I like the BuLang mountain region for the punchiness and bitter that the area brings. I also like MengSong area and especially Baotang tea. I seems to carry a thicker profile and echoes some of the BuLang area stuff. It can also carry a sweeter note as well. I like stuff that kicks back so your tas...

Re: What is your favorite region/subregion for puerh and why?
I found an interesting blog post about this, but not sure how accurate it is: https://www.rinsedtea.com/puerh-region-guide Menghai is characterized by an aggressive flavor with notable huigan (the return of sweetness up the throat following a bitter flavor) when young and a deep mushroom and wild fo...

What is your favorite region/subregion for puerh and why?
I'm just starting to get my baby sea legs in the puerh world so this would be very educational for me. Where are the spots that hold the magical liquor for you? What nuances and flavors can you expect coming from there and also what differences have you noticed when buying product from just outside ...

Late night session: Went back to the TWL: 2015 Biyun Hao Lishan Gongcha Rich tobacco like sweetness with a minty/menthol aftertaste, the more steepings I did the better it got. Using a yixing teapot brought out some differences therein.. The minty aftertaste in my porcelain gaiwan was drying my thro...

Re: The Essence of Tea
I really do appreciate these tea clubs because otherwise I would be able to properly know which teas suit me and sampling alone won't do. Some teas I was just unaware of like Liu Bao. So if I am not aware of them then how will I ever try them? TF and TF users also help to make us aware of various te...

Re: Teas We Like : By and for Tea Lovers
Great tips by TWL : Antique teapots were fired only once (modern teapots are usually fired twice). This means that the lid fit of antique teapots is usually not as precise as the lid fit of modern teapots. It is easy to adjust to this feature with the following brewing techniques: – do not fill the ...

Re: Do you eat any snacks with your tea?
mMm scone.. It wasn't until I visited a european tea house locally that I learned to appreciate scones. Their tea is bad.. their teaware is bad but they have great cakes and things with sofas so you can relax and enjoy yourself. I tried an oolong there and they watered it down so badly I didn't know...
