Re: Moon Cakes & Tea Pairing
I ate them all before even holiday started . I can't eat the Yunnan ones which has dry beef pieces mixed with some sweet stuff in it and all surface is kinda oily. So my wife buys for me the cantoneese style. Vendor asked her if she is buying it from some non local perosn ;-) coz seems like locals d...

Re: 2023 Chinese green tea thread
In general the best time to buy Yunnan greens is around end of April and if other provinces , then May , begin of June when all tea has been harvested and processed. If you are fan of 1st harvest then better pre-order or check shops end of the March.

Re: 2023 Chinese green tea thread
If I remember correctly green tea is graded AA-AAAAA with 5A's being the best? Anyway there was a western source where you could buy Chinese green tea graded AAA - AAAAA but I forgot the name. Obviously $$$ I wouldn't rely on that grading too much as they sometimes call it as they pleased. On marke...

Re: Tea tourism in Yunnan
I wouldn't push people to buy tea (or anything). I'd rather prepare a sample pack with a jin or so tea and include the price in the cost of the trip. Of course, the tourists should be able to buy some more if they want. And the tea should be good for the price, many famous places are rip offs. That...

Tea tourism in Yunnan
I'm having lately discussion with my friend from Menghai about possibilities for foreign tea tourism. From the posts here , and anywhere else , I can see that Yunnan is not that popular ( or just people are not sharing unless T-biz posting on their blog as part of the marketing ....like me ;-D ) . I...

Re: Chocolatey teas
Like I go to a local teastore, ask for a good hongcha, get offered jinjunmei, which i politely turn dow, just for the next tea, which seem to be some kind of zhengshan xiaozhong, turns out to be nevertheless processed like JJM. It might be the case of local wholesale supply chain. Somebody purchase...

yes, the other factor could be that online shop in TW is run by some 3rd party ( company or friend ) who get's an additional margin on products as payment for providing the service ( the online platform ) . Re: Chen YuanHao
Still does not explain why Western prices would be lower for some teas than for the Taiwanese market... that does not make any sense. This. 🎯 might not be a same case, but we had a same issue with some tea producers here as well. They give you a wholesale price ( as for re-seller of their product )...

bienvenue! beautiful ceramics, thank you for sharing +1 Have you compared the 3 clays to learn how they vary in taste for the same tea(s)? Would be interesting to learn how they each effect tea. (I especially like the look of the unglazed porcelain; however, I've read on this forum that unglazed po...

Re: Liu Bao recommendations
aet To be fair, when I was writing about the delays I was talking about experience some people have had with bigger (2-3kg) parcels stuck in Chinese customs (GZ) for ~2 months. I've recently ordered half a kilo of tea and I didn't even hear from the vendor in almost 2 weeks, though maybe they just ...
