Re: Yixing

The conversation and pictures on this thread have been great! Just wanted to say thanks to everyone contributing-- I'm sure I'm not the only one reading and learning. I hope the accessibility of better-quality teapots continues to increase in the West, despite being a drop in the bucket of the overa...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

How is Farmer Leaf btw, a few people here have mentioned them. That Lao Man E is actually the first puerh I've tried from them, so I don't have a definite opinion yet. :) I like the level of info they share about their teas, though, and they offer reasonably priced samples. My samples came in about...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

2020 Lao Man E from Farmer Leaf. I don't drink much young sheng, but I liked the body of this tea starting around the fourth infusion. It was sold as having heavy chaqi; a few hours later, I can still distinctly feel it in my chest and eyes.

Re: Early Factory FB page is closing...

That's unfortunate! I've learned a lot from that group and felt welcome the few times I posted. Anecdotally, I feel like there's a surprising amount of rule-breaking posts (despite the group's rules being quite straightforward) and obvious non-Factory pots posted. I can see why they might want to ca...

Re: Yann Zisha Gallery

Welcome! I've enjoyed seeing your posts on Instagram.

Can you share more info about the clays used in the pots you're selling, like how they are processed? I saw a link to a clay-related page on your web site, but it seems to be broken.

Re: Show Off Your Teaware Displays

It's a bit messy but I like the combination of teaware and teak! I love how some of the pieces also serve as reminders of trips abroad or friends who gave them as gifts.

Re: Yixing

Thanks for sharing, @alejandro2high! Do you have a favorite of your Yinchen pots? What types of filters do they have, or does it vary?

Re: Incense and Tea

I have a pretty ridiculous collection of incense, mostly made by KyaraZen, Ken Cannata, and various Japanese companies. At its best, I love it as much as tea, but despite feeling conceptually related, I mostly enjoy them separately. Sure, I may sometimes drink an uncomplicated tea grandpa style and ...

@alejandro2high, if you have time, would you mind sharing some pictures of your Yinchen pots at some point?

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Had 2019 Lishan Gongcha. Thick, strong and smooth, sweet Yiwu aftertaste - my favorite young sheng. The few young BYH shengs I've tried have been really good, and I don't usually like young sheng very much. I remember thinking a somewhat recent Yibi was almost like chewing on sugarcane, albeit with...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

2011 Dayi Jin. I bought a little sample for fun. Even though I wouldn't pay current prices for a full cake, I like this tea. It's strong, has a kind of sweet forest floor/mushroom age thing going balanced with hay, maybe, and some drying astringency. Distinct energy sitting in my chest. Long huigan.

Re: Yixing

Thanks, Bok! I bought this one a few years ago so I could be misremembering, but I am almost sure it was represented as 80s Green Label era from a reliable seller. Still, my assumption is that any Yixing pot I buy is more likely than not to be tuition, haha. Maybe I'll take some more pictures for th...

Re: Yixing

Looking through old pictures and found some of my (I think?) early 80s F1 hongni. (Please tell me if you disagree!) Edit: This might not be early 80s. Just editing to avoid this post causing any confusion. Edit 2: As Bok suggested, I posted this pot on the Facebook Early Teapots group. Initial respo...
