Re: Introduce Yourself

Welcome Andrew S . Being from Adelaide it's exciting to see more Australians on here. There are a few members here that could help you find some very nice early teawares and I look forward to seeing more of them in the country. There is the odd local vendor of young teas but the lack of tea culture ...

New pot! Thanks Bok
Image
I am glad this pot is with you.
If you didn't pick it up though it would be on its way to my collection. I would be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat envious.
Enjoy it for me!

Re: FS: Yamada Emu Woodfired Kyusu

This truly is a gorgeous kyusu. Surely somebody who isn't strapped during covid will pick this up!
Having picked stuff up from Darby before I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him again. Everything is clean as and he packs it very well.

Pants404 where'd you get that tea scoop? Also cute bird, Squish is a great name.
That was a piece of scrap copper that I hammered into shape.
Squish was named so because my partner's car was crashed into on the day we got her.

Re: Looking for new tea tray recommendations

I do enjoy a minimalist setup when I am brewing in the kitchen/shed/garden but when I am in my dedicated tea space I enjoy a larger tray. My partner found this one for me when she was in China last, but I have seen it listed in places like AliExpress with a search for wooden tea tray. https://www.in...

Re: Wireless Hygrometer Recommendations

Due to recent events (tea shopping) I had a look at sensors today. The inkbird units are a quarter of the cost of the rest of them and I will be giving them a try when I set up the new humidor

Re: Wireless Hygrometer Recommendations

I have a boveda butler. It works well enough for casual monitoring, but it goes through a battery in 5-6 months (I have heard some people say it's more frequent), and it connects to my phone very intemittently. Sometimes I can go a day or two without it connecting to my phone while I am in the house...

Re: Gong fu Brewing: What are your best tips for beginners?

Make sure to be honest with yourself about why you want to gongfu. I will add that teaware in itself could ultimately be more appealing than the tea. Collecting it is great, but using it can be best. I realised that this applied to me, but I was struggling with denial and pushed the lie that I was ...

Re: Adagio overtakes Steepster ?

I do not doubt that those who weren't around for the downfall of TC and merge to TF all of this looks so pretty. I am not commenting on anything outside of saying that their denial is a sign of things to come. I hate that another great resource is going to potentially fall apart, seeing that tea cul...

Re: Smell of loofah pads

Again, mine appear to be from the same factory but different reseller. There is no smell to these whatsoever, even when they are wet. They do hold a lot of water though so I stand it upright when I'm finished so it can drain and dry. If I recall correctly these were around a dollar each when I got t...

Re: Is tetsubin overrated? Looking for a small portable induction plate.

I have been considering purchasing an induction plate from AliExpress. They have a lot of small options at relatively low prices. Maybe it is worth having a look there. I use a larger induction plate at the moment, which only takes a few minutes to boil a litre of water. In a side by side comparison...

Re: Future Sale project: Qing/ROC Pearskin Zhuni

Personally I'm not sure how I feel about the wrapping, but I would love to see it after some heavy use. I am glad you haven't touched the lid. To me it shows its true age and use without impeding performance or Overall appearance. All up it looks great and whoever it ends up with will no doubt be ha...

Re: Future Sale project: Qing/ROC Pearskin Zhuni

In my mind I don't like the idea of a wrapped handle, but I'm sure it will be well done and look great. It's just different to me.
Thanks for answering the question.
