Re: If you don’t have teaware…
The inspiration for this came from the more fancy slow-down series from Peter Kuo: https://daqian.myshopify.com/collections/gallery/products/slow-down-series (Friend of mine and talented potter from Yingge in Taiwan) thanks for sharing, Very ingenious. Re: Drinking Cups & Bowls: Size and Material ?
The artist is called Ran (冉) It's 140 ml This large outstanding handcrafted cup is an original design by a Jingdezhen artist and is produced only in a very limited number. It is shaped on the potter’s wheel without the aid of a mould. Hence, every cup is unique due to its slightly varying shape. The...

Re: Drinking Cups & Bowls: Size and Material ?
celadon_45.jpg This Celadon cup features a round and harmonious shape, with a very delicate pastel-green finish. Celadon is a term for ceramics denoting both a type of glaze and a ware of celadon color. This cup was produced in Long Quan, a city located in the same province where archaeologists dis...

Recycled plastic gets beautiful with these vessels
It has nothing to do with the world of tea; I saw interesting to post with respect to the design in its forms, color, ... in short as a way of seeing and environmental concerns of an artist. http://www.designindaba.com/articles/creative-work/recycled-plastic-gets-beautiful-these-vessels If the moder...

Re: Drinking Cups & Bowls: Size and Material ?

Re: Clay Kettles
Going to get this thread started with my trusty clay kettle: Special Japanese clay for use on stoves, thrown by my Taiwanese pottery teacher. The steam hole is strategically place on the rear side to avoid getting burned by the steam when handling. Before first use I cooked some rice congee in it t...

Re: gaiwan or teapot?
My first brewing vessel was a gaiwan. I hate the thing. Many burned fingers and spills. I have 2 porcelain teapots. Done with the gaiwan. Hello Brendt. You can show your porcelain teapots for oolong. Thank you Lluis Abad Nothing fancy. I got one of these. I also had them make me one in 300 ml http:...

Show it all. I only recently acquired (in the last year), my first real glass piece and now i like it more and more every time i pass it in the house. It came with a paper box, titled unsurprisingly Nami; and was made by Hisatoshi Iwata. Roughly 25x25cm a.png b.png it reminds me of a planet

Re: Yixing
Check out the little beauty I just got. Its 105 ml Custom order from 2007 from an older batch of unmixed Hongni. The clay is probably 60s or 70s. The potter who made this teapot is a semi-anonymous 5th rank Yixing craftsman whose name is 志刚. very thin walled and very high fired. Havent tried it yet...
