Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
vuanguyen cool. What climate do you live in? I live in San Jose, California (Zones 9b). Mediterranean climate...wet in the winter and dry in the summer...a time bomb for wildfire in the summer :( You can grow teas in many different zones though (https://camforest.com/collections/tea-camellias)...as...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Drinking Oolong from home. When I made this Oolong 6 month ago, I was so disappointed with my tea making skill. It tasted like a Sheng Puer than a Taiwanese Oolong. Now, 6 month later, this tea body is much thicker and the taste is sweeter with a silky touch of tannin yet still has the freshness fra...

If you want to use the 10% discount, make sure you order it in Hong Kong dollar and not in your home currency. YeeOnTeaCo: "We still have warehouses with "Tradition HK" storage in the most traditional sense for clients who still prefer it." - Are any of these teas available on your site? If so, cou...

Re: Yee On Tea Co. - 義安茶莊
Yee On Tea agreed to refund the conversion rate difference they charged me and also gave me a free sample.
They didn't have to and it was very kind of them.
Good customer service...similar to Wistaria...I like.
Still...make sure to order in Hong Kong dollar.

Re: Yee On Tea Co. - 義安茶莊
Just a tip... If you want to use the 10% discount, make sure you order it in Hong Kong dollar and not in your home currency. I made a mistake of ordering in USD. They automatically converted the USD to HKD with the addition of another 8.5%. For example, 25 gm of "1999 Second Millennium Broad Loose L...

Re: Shu Recommendations for Sheng Lover
The used leaves showed me all I had to see ... Non laser bricks are consistently less fermented especially lam tin and chi tin marked bricks... I have drunk consistently from HKG and Malaysian stored bricks over the years and this has held firm... Also your price is very tribute CCP friendly... DLL...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
After reading Baisao mentioning of 40 y/o Shu Puerh causing "calming narcotic" effect (https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=1703&start=36), I searched for the oldest shu available for purchase on the web. The closest thing I found was a 1980s Shu loose leaf Puerh named "Bindbole" sold by Gl...

StoneLadle https://mgualt.com/tealog/2020/02/13/malaysian-commission-liubao/ I notice that you like to look at the leaves. Can you tell us the what you see when looking at the leaves to determine if it’s a good tea or not? I’m asking because I don’t get a chance to look at the leaves of many teas. ...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
StoneLadle Thank you for sharing your brewing technique. I am horrible at describing mouthfeel and body. I just skip to the bottom line…does it taste good or not :) Mouthfeel: sour/tart/dry Body: light It is basically a roasted Oolong with a tart mouthfeel. Not a profile I am looking for. I was bre...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
With all the talk about Global Tea Hut and aging Oolong in recent posts, I was excited and motivated to purchase some aged oolong from GTH. I bought their 1998 Cloud Freedom from Lishan mountain. Shipping was super fast. Less than 5 days. Unfortunately, the tea was not great. I experienced this sour...

Re: Aging oolong? How to do it?
This topic is really interesting. I have never tasted aged Oolong. I read that aged Oolong has much lesser caffeine that other teas. My body cannot tolerate drinking teas for prolonged period. Can anyone be kind enough to share where I can get some good aged Taiwanese Oolong? Thank you kindly.

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Spiritual stuff aside, it appears that a lot of people like GTH teas. The prices seem much lower than other vendors though. Are they legit as an honest tea seller? TeaTotaling Do you have any good experience with their other teas sir? I told myself not to buy anymore teas, but their website about th...
