The question in another topic about where you get your Darjeeling from reminded me that I have several more unopened samples
Thank you and you're welcome! ;)

Re: Hon Yama greens

A couple years ago I got two senchas from Thes du Japon that were from hon yama, sadly I can only find record of one of them in my notes, but both were extremely tasty. The one I noted was labeled “sencha from Honyama, Takayama, yamakai cultivar”. It was good but the one I didn’t write down was bett...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Drinking some medium roasted oolong I got from Ethan a couple years ago. Had it tucked away in its vacuum packed back for almost 2 years or something like that and finally opened it the other day. It’s nice and roasty toasty but soft with no hard edges and super warming, an excellent choice for the ...

Re: What are your bad habits during tea sessions?

This isn't necessarily during tea sessions for me, but in general, for my tea-life: craving for more tea. "Hmm, someone blogged about Farmer Leaf, it's been a while since I sampled them, maybe I should order some.." "Oh, this Lazycat Tea sounds like it might actually be a decent yancha vendor, I'd ...

Where do you get your Darjeeling?

I haven’t had any Darjeeling since I was very new to tea, almost 8 years, and am looking to rectify that situation! So where do you find your Darjeeling, any vendors you recommend? I’m starting at square one on this :)

Re: What are your bad habits during tea sessions?

I never even knew that’s why teacups develop crazing, @mbanu! Fortunately I enjoy the look so it never bothered me. I guess not warming my cups ever  is a bad habit, but if I like the look, does it count as a bad habit?

Re: What is your favorite caffeine-free tisane?

Recently made myself a nice brew of camomile, fresh ginger, and lime. I used a bit of lime peel and a very tiny squeeze. I sweetened the whole thing with raw honey. Made it as a sort of cure for cramps, and it seemed to help. At the very least, it was so tasty that it distracted me! :D

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Drinking more Maofeng from Seven Cups. I decided to try it grandpa style, and the results were much better. Much stronger flavor, very little astringency, and not nearly as bitter, especially compared to what it was before. I used 5g in my 350ml glass and the water was was 170F. Gonna mess around wi...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Getting back to tea after a long hiatus. Today I’m drinking some maofeng from Seven Cups, also some Mending Ganlu from the same place. Continuing my foray into Chinese green teas with these, I haven’t had either of these types until this week. The Mending I’m trying for the first time today and I lo...

The cold brew thread!

I’m back after a long hiatus from tea (a year and half!), and have a hankering for some cold brew sencha. I have some that’s been in my fridge for awhile, thought might be a good way to use it up. I had a fabulous method of brewing it in a pitcher in the fridge overnight to drink in the morning, but...

Re: Your day in tea

Wow it’s been over a year since I posted here. Got kicked by the lockdown blues and went without tea for awhile…but had myself a nice cup of early grey from Adagio, their full moon Bella Luna blend. Was excellent, dumped tons of milk amd sugar into it!
