Re: Shincha 2020, "the Year of COVID-19"
I was just allowing readers to figure that part out ... 😉 Did I just voluntarily lose my edge up here? Maybe ... I remember an incident on TC years ago where a member was discussing on the IM a limited "buy now" one-off Korean teaware item offering. Another member ... just so happened to buy ...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Today I had Honyama Tamakawa Yamakai Cultivar 本山 玉川 山峽 from TDJ. I decided to brew this within vendor recommended parameters. I brewed 10g for 150ml of water at 60C in a preheated Kyusu. The resulting tea was incredibly brothy and sweet. I went through a bag of this tea a couple of months ago. Read...

He told me no newsletter, no preorder ... when he has it, he will post it. Should be Friday. Very small window to potentially beat the weekend - no shipping and Golden Week (May 3-6) - again no shipping. Sooo ... "When he posts it, will they come ... " Tea Field of Dreams 2020  Not trying ...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
I decided to have some Sencha before my morning walk and my first round of Teams meetings with students. Today I had Honyama Tamakawa Yamakai Cultivar 本山 玉川 山峽 from TDJ. I decided to brew this within vendor recommended parameters. I brewed 10g for 150ml of water at 60C in a preheated Kyusu. DSC05346...

Re: Shincha 2020, "the Year of COVID-19"
I grabbed a bag of Mebuki from Kettl. I had Chiran last year and it was REALLY good. Trying not to over-order this year so I figure one bag of the new stuff. Nice! I'm curious if Kettl actually has their Shincha in hand stateside yet. I placed an order last week too but haven't seen anything ship. ...

Re: Ode to the Kyusu
Posting this Fugetsu pot that came in just a few days back. I was very attracted to the bulgy variation and slight color twists and folds of this pot. It is gorgeous to look at, and makes a great cup of Sencha! DSC05328.JPG DSC05319.JPG I am not the best at photography, but I tried to capture the fo...

Re: Akira Satake
S_B you have a really nice collection going there. Is that a new shudei kyusu? Details? Looks like a perfect size. Love the Nevada shaped plate and new yunomi. Yes! I picked up a Fugetsu piece that was lucky enough to slip through. It is 260ml - pretty versatile! ...Honestly, I may have to pick up ...

I think the connection is only held alive so far by the masses of overseas Taiwanese fleeing the mad house of doom and desperation :))) Lol very possibly. Our family is remaining a pillar in the storm! Fortunately, Taiwan is doing great, but planes may become in short supply sooner or later. Let's ...

What do you mean by that? I am in a similar boat...I am pretty sure that we just won't see those packages for a while. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll slip through, though!I am afraid they will not receive my understanding in advance. It might take up to 4 months.
