Re: Suitability of (this) high-fired hongni for mid/aged sheng?

I'm sure it will work great. When you finish the surgery don't forget to post the "after" pictures... So...any conclusions? (lmk if you decide to return it -- I've been looking on this guy for a couple of weeks ;) ) Hah, bad news, I've decided to keep it after all - it's playing real nice with the m...

Re: Are your brown/purple clay pots also lonely?

Most of my ZiNi pots are DiCaoQing in nature. Have you tried pairing ur ZiNi with wuyi rock tea? My QingShuiNi brews an array of teas... again, no hard rule to pair QSN with a specific tea. I have a ROC period QSN which brews up an awesome cup of fresh green TieGuanYin, and another that QSN that wh...

Are your brown/purple clay pots also lonely?

I usually try to make sure I give every pot a session or two every week or so, but find it increasingly hard with the brown/purple ones ( a couple of neizis and a dark zini). Setting a side shou (which I rarely drink) and hongcha (which I almost never do), I find that the only tea that actually bene...

Gorgeous shiboridashi, perfect wabi-sabi. Am looking for this just at 150ml volume.

Thanks Victoria!

FS: A Petr Novak Shiboridashi

Up for sale is a sturdy woodfired shibo by Petr Novak. Around 75ml, unglazed inside and outside. It is like new. I have used it less than 15 times. Was purchased mostly to exprience with non-yixing clays/pottery (I found that it performs well with blacks, roasted oolongs and shou). I will let it go ...

Porcelain and Hongni

I have been doing a lot of tastings and comparisons lately between porcelain and decent hongnis (mostly natural green label clay). I did this in order to examine the claim that unless one has those rare ROC or pre-1977 red clay pots, there is really no advantage in using a hongni over porcelain, bes...
