Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
I live in France, and have never had any issues with customs.... I have sent packages of tea and other things to France using the post office. First class mail from the East Coast of the USA averages about 8 days to the receiver's door and is not expensive. There is no tracking after the packages a...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
I live in France, and have never had any issues with customs. Only once have they opened a box, and never have I had to pay taxes. I choose epacket whenever possible. It probably helps that YS and others typically don't put the full value on the shipping label 8-) Courriers (UPS, DHL etc.) will alwa...

Re: Aged white tea
Only just getting into them myself, so limited experience. - White2Tea has some really nice ones. The 2013 Gongmei is great. - No idea about ideal age. - Don't know about regions either. - White teas are very flexible in terms of brewing. You can do it pretty much however you like: Gaiwan, western, ...

Re: Musings on Dancong…
Just had a friend gift me a rather special tea: Dancong leaves, but processed as black tea! Never had it and I love it. Yunnan Sourcing has a Bai Ye Dancong black tea. Only drunk it once so far and will have to do a more thorough tasting, but you can definitely taste the dancong "heritage". Very ni...

Haven't ordered from him, but The Tea Crane is supposed to be really good. Heavy focus on organic. He also just launched a Kickstarter for a tea subscription.

Palais des Thés has good tea (their Grand Crus especially), but is typically way too expensive.

A bit hard to tell from the photo, but almost certainly hairs from the leaves. Usually only found on the buds.

Re: oolong fairy brewing time?
It's this tea: https://www.perchs.dk/index.php?page=specifik.php&ID=3250 The English description isn't all that good, so here's my translation of the Danish: New Chinese Oolong Fairy. After 5 years of studies and experiments, it was finally possible to make a completely straight leaf for this exquis...

Fertiliser, no matter the type, isn't bad for you. However, it can be quite bad for the soil and environment in general, depending on the type and how it's used.
